MOL Commences Stage to Acknowledge Employment Agencies’ Opinions on Regulations for Deploying Thai Workers Overseas

          Secretariat to the Labour Minister commenced the forum to exchange ideas and amendments to regulations, to resolve issues of deploying Thai workers abroad, guidelines to expand the labour market and facilitate and improve efficiency in sending more Thai workers abroad.   Download Images      On November 13, 2019, Secretariat to the Labour Minister Lt. Gen. Nanthadet Meksawat chaired the workshop to resolve issues of deploying Thai workers abroad, at Vibhavadi Ballroom, 4th floor, Princeton Park Suites Hotel, Bangkok. The Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Suchart Pornchaiwisetkun welcomed President of the Thai Overseas Employment Association Ms. Aranya Sakulsakosol, who gave a report. The association’s president said that it was a good opportunity for the Secretariat to the Labour Minister to host a meeting to give the association an opportunity to present issues regarding the ministry’s laws and regulations which pose as an obstacle to deploying Thai workers abroad. Permanent Secretary of Labour Commences Toyota Learning Center to Strengthen Labour Relations and Develop Thai Industries to International Standards

          The Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the Learning and Training Center for the Toyota Workers Union in Chachoengsao to strengthen labour relations and prepare workers to adapt to the environment. Labour Minister’s Advisor Inspects Project to Promote, Protect and Develop Informal Workers in 1 Tambon 1 Village Universal Social Security Project

MOL Trains Batch 24 of New Government Officials

         On November 8, 2019, at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Niyom Songkaew presided over the opening ceremony of the training course on the Development of Civil Service Personnel of the Ministry of Labour, Batch 24, Jompol P. Pibulsongkram, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The training aims to instill a philosophy of being a competent government official and build capacity and skills required for civil service. It also seeks to promote morals, ethics, teamwork, and good rapport, and develop a working network. The course focuses on learning from past experiences of expert speakers, study trips, and hands-on practice in and out of the classroom. The training schedule is between November 8-17, 2019, for a total of 10 days. The trainees are from all departments under the Ministry of Labour, both in the central and regional areas, totaling 127 people. Labour Minister Joins Summary on ISOC Operations for 2019 and Plan for 2020 at Government Houses

          On November 8, 2019, at 10.00 hours, Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha chaired the summary of the ISOC’s 2019 performance and announced the operations plan for 2020. The ISOC Secretary-General, General Thirawat Bunyawat, reported on the purpose of the event on behalf of the Prime Minister. Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul and Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol also participated in the event, which took place at the Santi Maitri Building (outside), Government House, Bangkok.           Participants in the event consisted of the National Security Commission, head of governments, top management of units reporting to the ISOC in both central and provincial areas, and the cabinet in the new government. Labour Minister Receives Letter from SERC

          Today (November 7, 2019), at 11.20 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul received a letter from representatives of the State Enterprises Workers’ Relations Confederation (SERC) and the Electricity and Water Network for the People, to ask for assistance. The NACC had filed a lawsuit against the leaders of the State Railway Workers’ Union of Thailand. The Labour Minister joined the discussion with the 15 representatives. Labour Minister Watches Show and Leads Executives to the Royal Barge Procession Celebrating the Royal Coronation in 2019

On November 6, 2019, at 18.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul presided over the show and led the Ministry of Labour’s executive committee to view the exhibition on knowledge about traveling along the capital city by the Royal Barge Procession, celebrating His Majesty the King’s coronation in 2019. The occasion took place at Sanam Luang, Bangkok. Download Images The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Culture, is scheduled between October 24, 2019 to November 11, 2019. The event is open to the public 3 times per day, around 16:00 hours, 18:00 hours and 20:00 hours. The exhibition is displayed in 3 zones. The first shows coronations since the Rattanakosin period. The second zone features a show, with music, visuals and interactive media, in celebration of the royal grace. Labour Minister Shows Concern for Deceased Thai Worker in Japan and Orders Labour Ambassador to Coordinate Cremation and Follow Up Legal Benefits

         The Labour Minister showed concern for the Thai worker who passed away in Japan, as doctors identified symptoms of nephritis. He ordered the diplomatic personnel to investigate the case and coordinate with the employer for the cremation and transportation of ashes back to the family in Thailand. Furthermore, the ministry will follow up on the legal benefits along with units under the Ministry of Labour in Buriram Province, to visit and support the family closely.           On November 6, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul spoke about the case of a Thai worker’s death in Japan due to illness and heart failure. The Ministry of Labor ordered the ambassador’s advisor (labour department) from the Labour Office in Japan to investigate the case and coordinate with the employer to arrange the cremation and send the ashes back to Thailand. Agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Buriram province have visited the family providing close care. Permanent Secretary of Labour Commences Reception for New Director of Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Thailand

On October 30, 2019, at 19.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the opening ceremony for the reception of the new Director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Thailand, Ms. Vesna Rodic. The occasion took place at the Kamonthip Room, Sukosol Hotel, Sri Ayutthaya Road, Bangkok. The Permanent Secretary showed appreciation through the German Ambassador to Thailand, on the vision of President Friedrich Ebert, an important person in German history. He was an ideological leader who led society to balance and reconciliation, which led to the establishment of the foundation. The Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Thailand is a partner that supports the Ministry of Labour’s work, in the history and development of labour.
