            On July 26, 2018, at 07.00, General Prayut Chan-ocha, the Prime Minister, presided over the ceremony to commemorate the 5 great religions including Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Brahmin – Hindu and Sikhs on the occasion of the 28th Anniversary of His Majesty the King along with H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor at Santi Maitri Building. Then General Prayut Chansaacha, the Prime Minister, presided over the campaign “We do good deeds with heart” to develop the area around the Premprachakorn Canal and the Padungkrungkasem Canal to commemorate the King’s Birthday on 28 July 2018, along with Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor and the Cabinet at the front of the Government House.             On July 25, 2018, at 08.30, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, presided over the candle-lit ceremony and commemorated the monks on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 66th Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2018, with Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor along with the management, government officials, officials of the Ministry of Labor joined the activity on the ground floor, Ministry of Labor. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, assigned Mr. Santi Nantasuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, to preside over the opening ceremony of the “Thais Must Have Jobs @ Korat” event for 2026. Mr. Somchai Maruksriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment, assigned Mr. Mongkol Songkhram, the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General, to deliver the event report. Mr. Banlang Witsiri, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, delivered welcoming remarks. Labour Minister Sends Off First Group of Thai Workers to Singapore and Taiwan Under the “Fly Free, Get a Job” Programme

On January 9, 2026, at the 10th floor of the Social Security Office Area 3 Building, Ministry of Labour, Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, met and spoke with the first group of Thai workers prior to their departure to work in Singapore and Taiwan. The Thai Overseas Employment Association and the Employers’ Association for the Promotion of Thai Workers supported 120 free-flight job positions for employment in Singapore and Taiwan under the “Fly Free, Get a Job” programme. Ms. Trinuch said that this programme is a special initiative presented by the Ministry of Labour as a New Year gift to Thai people wishing to work overseas, at no cost. The Ministry coordinated with both associations to provide air tickets and waive personal expenses, including Overseas Employment Assistance Fund membership fees, at no cost. Eligible applicants must be Thai nationals aged 20–43, able to communicate in English, and hold a vocational diploma (Higher Vocational Certificate) or a bachelor’s degree. Cabinet Approves Reduction of Social Security Contributions Under Sections 33 and 39 for 6 Months from December 2025 to May 2026 as Proposed by MOL: Labour Minister Accelerates Relief Measures for Employers and Insured Persons in 9 Severely Disaster Affected Southern Provinces, Expected to Ease Costs by Over 1.4 Billion Baht

At the Cabinet meeting on December 30,  2025, Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, revealed that the Cabinet approved the draft Ministerial Regulation of the Ministry of Labour on the criteria, procedures, and conditions for reducing Social Security Fund contributions for employers and insured persons in areas severely affected by disasters. The measure reduces Social Security Fund contribution rates for employers and insured persons for a period of 6 months, from December 2025 to May 2026, in 9 disaster-affected provinces in the southern region, namely: Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Phatthalung, Yala, Songkhla, Satun, and Surat Thani. The details are as follows: Section 33 insured persons and employers will have a reduced monthly contribution rate from 5% to 3% of the insured person’s wages, while the government contribution remains unchanged at 2.75% of wages per month. Section 39 insured persons will have a reduced monthly contribution from 432 Baht (based on a wage base of 4,800 Baht) to 283 Baht.             Rayong, August 28, 2025 — The Ministry of Labour, through the Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Public Organisation) or TOSH, organised the “Regional Occupational Health and Safety Forum 2025, Rayong Province” at Sunthornphu Hall, Star Convention Hotel, Rayong. Labour Minister Clarifies Migrant Workers’ Health Check Procedures: Stresses Transparency and Accountability

Mr. Pongkawin Jungrungruangkit, Minister of Labour, addressed public concerns regarding health check services for migrant workers provided by certain medical facilities, amid suspicions that some may not yet have been formally authorised. This has raised questions about the validity of medical certificates and potential impacts on both workers and employers. The Labour Minister emphasised that the issue is being taken seriously and has instructed officials to conduct an immediate investigation. Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment, reported that under the Cabinet resolution of September 24, 2024, migrant workers are required to undergo tests for prohibited diseases. These tests can be conducted at any licensed public or private healthcare facility. For private facilities, they must be reviewed by the Department of Employment, have their health check data integrated with the department’s system, and be publicly listed as approved providers. The criteria were jointly established by a working group comprising the Ministry of Public Health, the Department of Medical Sciences, the Department of Health Service Support, the Department of Disease Control, and the Department of Employment.
