MOL Concludes Training for 30th Batch of New Civil Servants

          On April 28, 2022, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong presided over the training closing ceremony for the Ministry of Labour’s 30th batch of new civil servants at The Palazzo Hotel Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok. Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, Mr. Kattiya Pandet and Mr. Sompong Klaikhlae attended the ceremony.           Mr. Boonchob asked that all new civil servants be valuable resources to the Ministry of Labour to realize the importance of roles, duties, and responsibilities as a good government official. He asked everyone to be a new generation of civil servants who are eager to learn, focus on self-development to keep up with the modern era, and always be aware of the changes in the world. Permanent Secretary of Labour Commences Training for MOL’s 30th Batch of New Civil Servants

          On April 18, 2022, at 08.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, presided over the opening ceremony of the training course for the Ministry of Labour’s 30th batch of new civil servants at the Human Resources Management Division’s meeting room, 10th floor, Ministry of Labour. The training aims to instill a philosophy of being a good civil servant, enhance performance and skills required for public service, and promote morals, ethics, and network development in the workplace. It focuses on learning from the experiences of qualified speakers and hands-on practice. The training will take place between April 18 to 28, 2022. Participants include civil servants from all departments under the Ministry of Labour, from the central and provincial areas. Eighty-eight people joined, comprising 54 people from the Department of Employment, one from the Department of Skill Development, and 33 from the Social Security Office. Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Chair Ceremony for DSD’s 30th Anniversary

Labour Minister Assigns Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to Investigate Claims and Provide Diagnosis in 30 Days for the Case of Nok Air Captains Being Terminated Without Compensation

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned labour inspectors from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to receive claims from employees who were terminated and check and provide diagnosis according to the legal framework, under the principle of good labour relations, to be completed within 30 days. The case was that captains from Nok Air were terminated without compensation.           On May 11, 2021, at the Chatumongkol meeting room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the case whereby the Thai Constitutional Protection Organization Association Secretary-General Mr. Srisuwan Chanya led 20 pilots or captains from Nok Air to meet him and file a complaint on Nok Air PCL, which laid off a large number of employees in aviation without compensating them according to the law. Labour Minister Reports Covid-19 Screening at Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng to Open Until April 30; The 1506 Hotline Press 6 Ensures Insured Persons Reach Hospitals Promptly

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress of the proactive Covid-19 screening for insured persons following the “Workforce Fighting Together” project in the five provinces. To date, 29,065 people have been tested with 607 confirmed cases of Covid-19. The Labour Minister emphasized that the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng, Bangkok, would open until April 30. The center will then be temporarily closed. Screening service will resume on May 5 to 11. Labour Minister Checks Readiness of Proactive Covid-19 Screening Center for Insured Persons in Red Areas Before Service on April 24-30 at Pathum Thani Vocational College

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin and the committee visited the Pathum Thani Vocational College to check the readiness of the proactive Covid-19 screening facility for insured persons in Pathum Thani and nearby to reduce congestion and facilitate screening. 1,300 Employees of Brilliant Alliance Thai Global in Samut Prakarn Receive Social Security Compensation after Deputy PM Assigns Labour Minster to Urgently Assist

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin revealed that Duty Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan urged the Ministry of Labour to follow up and assist employees from Brilliant Alliance Thai Global Co., Ltd., which produces undergarments. The company is based in Samut Prakan Province, and whereby employees were laid off and have received unemployment compensation from the Social Security Office already.           On April 8, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress on assisting employees who were impacted by Brilliant Alliance Thai Global Co., Ltd., a producer of undergarments in Samut Prakarn.           Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin expressed concern for employees of Brilliant Alliance Thai Global Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of women undergarments in Samut Prakan. A total of 1,388 people were issued a notice by the employer to terminate their employment due to business closure, effective on March 11, 2021. Deputy Labour Minister Gives Over 30M Baht in Unemployment Benefits to Body Fashion Employees Terminated from Covid-19

          Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan gave unemployment benefits to employees of Body Fashion (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Nakhon Sawan branch. The company laid off employees due to business closure from the effects of Covid-19. MOL Invites People with Disabilities to Join Skills Competition for a Chance to Win 30,000 Baht

          The Deputy Labour Minister invited people with disabilities to participate in the 10th National Skill Competition for People with Disabilities to promote a stable career.           On January 9, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumol Pinyosinwat reported that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha has the policy to promote vulnerable labour groups, especially workers with disabilities, to have the potential to work and reduce social inequality. MOL SSO Budgets 30,000 Million Baht to Promote Employment in Workplaces Affected by Covid-19

          Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul reported that the Covid-19 pandemic had affected the overall national economy, including workplaces that face a lack of working capital or financial liquidity, affecting employees and insured persons in terms of employment. The government and the Ministry of Labour have measures to help businesses that have been affected by economic impacts of Covid-19, to maintain employment, resulting in insured persons having continuous employment and remaining in the social security system. The Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office has a credit program to promote employment, with a credit limit of 30,000 million baht. It is in the form of refinance loans, not exceeding 50 percent of the loans granted by each bank. The period for submitting the loan request is from the beginning of the project up until December 31, 2020, or until the project credit limit is exhausted. Labour Minister Joins Donations Through Special Program “Thailand Joining Together to Help the Flooding” on Channel 9, MCOT HD No. 30

           On September 17, 2019, at 21.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul joined the phone calls for money donations with the Cabinet, to raise funds to help victims of the “Podul and Kajiki” tropical storms. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul received the funds totaling 1,300,000 Baht (one million three hundred thousand Baht) through the special program “Thailand joining together to help the flooding”, broadcasted on Channel 9, MCOT HD No. 30. Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha presided over the acceptance of the donation.
