Chief Inspector-General Mr. Suwan Duangta Travels to Phrae

            On March 2, 2020, the Ministry of Labour’s Chief Inspector-General Mr. Suwan Duangta chaired the commencement ceremony of skill development activities in writing and embroidery courses (30 hours), conducted between March 2-6, 2020, under the first occupational alleviation project for 2020 in Phrae province. Director of the Rongkhat Subdistrict Administrative Organization gave a welcoming at the Rongkhat Subdistrict Administrative Organization meeting room, Moo 7, Sung Men District, Phrae Province. The objective is to help workers who have been affected in their occupation, to have income and the opportunity to increase their potential in new skills (reskill) in addition to existing skills. It also allows workers to realize the importance of self-development, self-reliance and to help each other within the community/locality, as well as promoting the participation of people in the area.

            In the afternoon, he met with department heads under the Ministry of Labour in Phrae, along with the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General Mrs. Pidsamai Nithipaiboon, at the meeting room of Phrae Skill Development Office. The meeting was the second session of the progress review according to the inspection plan of the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General for 2020. The meeting also listened to the comments of labour volunteers in relation to the mission of the Ministry of Labour in the area. From inspections, it was found that most affiliated agencies are implementing projects/activities according to indicators. The Inspector-General urged meeting participants to accelerate outputs and financial results to be in accordance with the regulations.

            The Ministry of Labour’s Chief Inspector-General bestowed operational guidelines on the effects of trade between Thailand and China or trade between Thailand and the United States of America, and the epidemic of COVID-19 which has caused tourism businesses, hotels, resorts, agricultural products to stagnate. He asked the heads of agencies in Phrae to accelerate the implementation of supporting plans, project, and activities under the Ministry of Labour’s policies, that corresponds to finding employment or those who must change careers, vocational training and independent careers for workers to have a continuous income. He also requested to add value to careers and to increase marketing channels for sustainability. From there, he inspected the government inspection plan of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for 2020.
