Deputy Labour Minister Leads DISDA and HUAWEI In Application Creation and Development Course

          The Deputy Labour Minister assigned the Digital Skill Development Academy to work with Huawei to provide online application creation and development training, preparing Thai workers for the digital age.
          On May 27, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development, by the Digital Skill Development Academy (DISDA), in collaboration with Huawei Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., is scheduled to organize training courses on “Application Creation and Development” through an online training room. The course is part of a curriculum to develop skills in digital technology, providing the workforce with progressed knowledge, abilities and skills, to keep up with the changes in technology, in line with the labour markets’ need. The course is also in line with government policy that recognizes the need for digital technology as a key driver of national reform towards a Thailand 4.0. It aims to build the country’s economy and society through innovation. The goal is to develop manpower to support the digital age of over 4 million people and expand the target audience to vulnerable groups.
          Prof. Narumon continued that the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, has an intention to upgrade to become an important Ministry of Economy, focusing on the development of a digital workforce. The “Application Creation and Development” course will begin on June 5, 2021. Training will be organized every Saturday and Sunday, for 6 hours a day, for a total of 48 hours online. This is especially useful in building and developing skills for participants to use in their careers and earn money in the New Normal era. Many countries, including Thailand, are facing the Covid-19 pandemic. This is an important starting point in the preparation of the workforce to support sustainable digital transformation.
          Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Thailand, Abel Deng, added that Huawei as a technology leader in Thailand is committed to building a digital knowledge foundation for participants of the “Application Creation and Development” course on the Android operating system and the App Gallery Store increase their knowledge and skills. The course prepares trainees to have more ICT potential, ready to support work in the digital age. This is one of the important parts that will drive Thailand’s digital economy. Huawei is focused on growing together with Thailand and supporting Thailand to push forward to become a fully connected smart country, in line with Huawei’s vision to bring digital innovation to everyone, every household, and every organization.
