Deputy Prime Minister and Labour Minister Inspect Readiness of OSS Before Operations Commence on January 10

Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan and Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul inspected the readiness for operation of the One Stop Service Center at IT Square, Laksi, before operations commence in 4 locations in Bangkok, between 10 January to 31 March 2020.

          On January 9, 2020, Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan presided over the readiness for operation of One Stop Service Center (OSS), Bangkok. Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Suchat Pornchaiwiseskul and the Ministry of Labour’s executives welcomed and participated in this event as well. The occasion took place at the OSS Center, IT Square Department Store, Lak Si. The Bangkok One Stop Service Center (OSS) was established following the Cabinet’s resolution on August 20, 2019, which approved the management approach for foreign workers from 2019 – 2020 with 2 types of operations, which are 1) operate at the location of the offices of each department concerned and 2) serve as a One Stop Service (OSS) in the Bangkok area as prescribed by the Director-General of the Department of Employment. The Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment is scheduled to operate as an OSS center in Bangkok by outsourcing private operations from January 10 – March 31, 2020. There are 4 OSS centers which are 1) OSS Center 1 at IT Square Department Store, Lak Si 2) OSS Center 2 at U Outlet Plaza (Big C Petchkasem), Bang Khae 3) OSS Center 3 at Number One Plaza Department Store, Prawet, and 4) OSS Center 4 at Nong Chok Intersection Market. Nong Chok.

         Within the center, the procedures are as follows: 1) The employer presents the appointment sheet to the staff at the screening point. 2) The foreigner applies to stay in the Kingdom by submitting an extension of stay (TM 7) to the Immigration Bureau. The staff will store the identity and issue a visa to stay. 3) Apply to work with the Department of Employment. The team will check the work permit information and publish the work permit via the system. 4) The Department of Provincial Administration or Bangkok Administration issuing a non-Thai national identity card (pink card) with a work permit on the back of the card.

         In this regard, the implementation of the guidelines for the management of foreign workers from 2019 – 2020 with related departments, consists of the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Public Health, Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior Bangkok and the Immigration Office and National Police Agency for example.
