Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet presided over payment of cash following the Labour Inspection Officer’s orders, to employees of Pro-Plug Co., Ltd. and provided working policies in crisis to the staff. The occasion took place at the Office of Labour Protection and Welfare, Bangkok, Area 9.
On July 8, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet chaired the payment of money followingthe Labour Inspection Officer’s orders, to the employees of Pro-Plug Co., Ltd., who filed a complaint via telephone on the program “Koh Tid Covid-19” on the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT). Dr. Jak joined the program, whereby there was case of termination and employees did not receive wages in lieu of notice, compensation and encashment of working collateral. The staff were directed to sign the employment termination letter which included a message stating that it was open to claims or prosecutions in both civil and criminal cases. In this regard, the Labour Inspector issued an order for the employer to pay according to the rights of the employees of 5 petitioners in the amount of 348,824 Baht, and gave words of encouragement to the employees. They also introduced a variety of vocational training to adjust to employment in the new normal era. Deputy Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare Mrs. Udomlaksorn Saree and Director of the Bangkok Office of Labour Protection and Welfare, Area 9, Mrs. Sineenat Boonnet also joined the occasion at the meeting room of the Bangkok Labor Protection and Welfare Office, Area 9.
In addition, the Labour Minister’s Advisor presented working policies in the time of crisis to personnel of the Bangkok Office of Labour Protection and Welfare, Area 9, and emphasized that civil servants, employees and staff work with transparency, and serve the people equally.
