Labour Minister Commences “Meeting to Clarify the Payment and Examination of Medical Services by Social Security Hospitals in Government and Private Sectors”

          The Labour Minister chaired the opening of “the meeting to clarify the payment of medical services and the examination of medical services by social security hospitals in both government and private sectors” to provide good services and quality in medical care for insured persons.

          On November 27, 2020, at 08.30 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over “the meeting to clarify the payment of medical services and the examination of medical services by social security hospitals in both government and private sectors.” Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the meeting commencement at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkhram meeting room, Ministry of Labour.

          The Labour Minister said that following government policies under the administration of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, which oversees the Ministry of Labour, focuses on caring for workers, ensuring protection and entitlement to equal rights in healthcare facilities. Both the public and private sectors play a very important role in the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office in driving the mission to take care of insured persons to be healthy. The office is ready to be a powerful force to lead the country forward. In the past, the Social Security Office has developed improvements to the reporting system in using medical services, facilitating faster payment for medical services to be a burden in managing the hospital. When medical services are paid to hospitals faster, it is also necessary to review information on medical services, ensuring it follows regulatory processes that are transparent and verifiable. This information will be useful to all parties. Insured persons will benefit from the accuracy of medical treatment history. The medical facility will have the information on medical treatment in terms of keeping accurate and clear medical records, and the Social Security Office will be able to pay for medical services accurately and appropriately and use the information for planning and health promotion to the insured in the future. Finally, the nation benefits from the development of information systems in health from the health insurance system.
