On January 27, 2020, at 11.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul and Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol welcomed Chairman of the Thai Autism Foundation Mr. Chusak Chantayanon and spokeswomen for the Labour Commission Ms. Anusee Tubsuwan, with the board of directors and a group of autistic people who are hired and working independently. The visiting party met for new year blessings from the Labour Minister, at the Saengsingkaew conference room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
The Ministry of Labour supports the Thai Autism Foundation in conjunction with establishments on organizing “model training centers for autistic workers and people with disabilities,” allowing more than 200 people with autism to work each year. It also supports the “model coffee shop” with autistic baristas at the Ministry of Labour’s cafeteria. In addition, there was a discussion about the management and development of a course for teaching autistic workers or having job coaches together.
On this occasion, an autistic person representative also gave a souvenir, which was self-designed products by autistic workers, such as t-shirts, glasses, notebooks, and cloth bags, for the Labour Minister.
