Labour Minister Welcomes Labour Commission to Discuss Labour Strategies and Policies

          The Ministry of Labour welcomed the Labour Commission, House of Representatives, in a meeting to discuss the strategic issues and policies of the Ministry of Labour and other labour matters.

          On January 24, 2020, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the ministry’s executives, welcomed Mr. Suthep U-On, Chairman of the Labour Commission, The House of Representatives and the delegation, to meet and discuss the Ministry of Labour’s strategic and policy issues. The delegation met with the Labour Minister and government executives under the Ministry of Labour, to discuss various labour issues. The meeting took place at the Nikom Chandravithu conference room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.

          On this occasion, the Labour Commission led by Mr. Suthep U-On, Chairman of the Labour Commission, had a discussion with the Labour Minister and the ministry’s executives, on issues related to the strategy and policies of the Ministry of Labour, such as the law enforcement guidelines for employees to receive benefits in the event of termination, amendments to the law to provide protection to the workforce for more concrete results and enforcement of the Labour Protection Act No. 2 B.E. 2551 to impact workers. The Ministry of Labour can create software to integrate the wage benefits of various companies, to be the database for verification under Section 11/1 of the minimum wage adjustment policy. In 2020, it is likely to make companies and employees operate concurrently and benefit Thai workers. The meeting discussed improvements in tripartite matters regarding the recruitment process and opening new markets for Thai workers, working guidelines for the Labour Commission Management of foreign workers and human trafficking, unemployment, vocational training for workers to meet the needs of the labour market in the AI ​​era and cooperation with vocational institutions to organize teaching and learning courses for children to have jobs. It also discussed guidelines for improving insurers under Section 40, and the safety of workers in the workplace for example.
