Content Description

On December 1, 2020, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Tongjai Suthat Na Ayutthaya to visit the area to observe a vocational training booth and an exhibition under the theme “Happiness that the Father gave to the Thai workforce towards self-sufficiency.” The event was organized on the occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s birthday on National Day and Father’s Day, on December 5, 2020. The event is scheduled between December 1-6,2020, from 10.00 – 21.00 at Sanamchai Road, Suan Saranrom, and Museum Siam.
The Ministry of Labour hosted booths, which consisted of vocational training and self-employment demonstrations such as making bags from rags, cold tie-dye for bags, canvas shoes painting, making decoupage, and decorating Krajood bags, and weaving of plastic baskets. It also provides consulting services for labour/labour lawyers, for example, providing knowledge about building security with Social Security Section 40 and giving general advice on social security.
In addition, the exhibition was held in honour of His Majesty the King, who bestowed the concept of the sufficiency economy philosophy to the people of Thailand. The Ministry of Labour has introduced it in employment activities in the Covid-19 model farm project, to provide Thai workers who have suffered occupational problems from the effects of Covid-19, to learn about the sufficiency economy royal initiatives “The King of the Land.” The philosophy can be adapted to be used in their occupations and live a life where they have enough to eat so that Thai workers do not have to leave their settlements to find work elsewhere. It is the ultimate royal grace that His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the “King of the Land,” gave guidelines for the people to learn the way of life of sufficiency in agriculture, promoting people to have a career, earn income, support themselves and their families, to have a good quality of life and live sustainably.
