MOL Commences Project to Promote Knowledge on Workforce Economy in Thailand and Internationally

            The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the project to enhance knowledge on the workforce economy in Thailand and internationally, for personnel of agencies under the Ministry of Labour, for 2020.  

            On September 9, 2020, at 08.45 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Aumpun Thuvavit presided over the project’s opening ceremony to enhance knowledge on the workforce economy both in Thailand and internationally, for personnel of agencies under the Ministry of Labour, for 2020. The event took place at the Grand Pavilion, 9th floor, Centara Watergate Pavilion Hotel, Bangkok. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour stated that “The world today is volatile and rapidly changing, even more so than in the past. Scholars describe this in four words: VUCA, which stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity. As we see now is the Covid-19 pandemic, which spread so rapidly that we humans could not prepare in time to take action. The situation has had severe and ongoing impacts throughout the world, not only in public health but affecting the economy and spreading widespread impact on the labour market and employment.”

            The project was organized to provide the Ministry of Labour’s personnel with knowledge and understanding of the workforce economy both in Thailand and internationally. The knowledge will enable the application for further study, analysis, and research to drive the workforce economy’s mission effectively. The project was attended by 80 government officials and civil servants from the Ministry of Labour.
