Content Description

The Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the workshop on the preparation of the Action Plan for Increasing Labour Productivity 2022-2027, to be used as a strategic plan and framework to improve the Thai labor productivity in a situation where the nation is facing various problems at present.

The Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol spoke as the chairman of the workshop on the preparation of an Action Plan for Increasing Labour Productivity 2022 – 2027, on August 21, 2020, 9.00 hours at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok. The meeting was an important opportunity to participate in the exchange of opinions and to set the direction to increase labour productivity in Thailand. The workshop on the preparation of the Action Plan for Increasing Labour Productivity 2022-2027 will be used as a strategic plan and framework to improve the Thai labour productivity in a situation where Thailand is facing various problems at present. In particular, it has to adapt to the new normal or the new way of life and respond to human resource development in the 21st century. The framework will drive and raise the rank of Thai labour productivity when compared to foreign countries, which will increase Thailand’s economic competitiveness.

The recommendation of the Federation of Thai Industries in April 2020 suggested that the ministers review Thailand’s competitiveness enhancement and improve the nation’s labour productivity to achieve its target. It, therefore, requested that the working group on improving labour productivity and all participants of the workshop show true participation by brainstorming the formulation of a strategy and put in place an Action Plan for Increasing Labour Productivity for 2022 – 2027. This plan will support the plans of parties involved in driving the real upgrade of Thai labour productivity, concluded Mr. Suthi.
