MOL Joins MSDHS in Promoting New Careers in “New Careers and Life after COVID-19” Workshop

          On June 7, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet as the Ministry of Labour’s representative attended a workshop to develop and upgrade vocational training (new careers and life after COVID-19). Minister of Social Development and Human Security Juti Krairuek was chairman of the meeting commencement. The target group was the general public, including the unemployed population, jobseekers, students and graduates affected by COVID-19. This project is an integration of cooperation between agencies to restore the quality of life and the economy. The occasion took place at the Convention Room, 5th floor, Topland Hotel and Convention Center, Phitsanulok.

          Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak said that the Ministry of Labour is prepared to develop the potential of both informal and informal workers. Skill development institutions that exist in each province have various training courses to meet the needs of the labor market, including the industrial sector, homeworkers and working in agriculture. The ministries working together will benefit the people. “At this time, caring for the people is not a duty any particular party or ministry. We have to work together in every sector. The suffering of the people cannot wait, and the problem cannot be resolved singlehandedly.”

          Mr. Juti said that the Ministry of Public Health is a government agency that aims to care for people who suffer social problems, to improve their quality of life. Therefore a workshop was organized to develop and upgrade vocational training (new career and life after COVID-19) to integrate cooperation with new working dimensions with 9 government agencies and ministries, including the private sector, civil society and citizens, to create human capital for the foundation economic recovery in Phitsanulok to be strong. The workshop introduces new lifestyles and careers to people in the 9 southern provinces. After this, progress will be monitored every month continuously to solve problems and improve work concentration as the problems of the people cannot wait. From now on, the working group will continue to work in the southern and northeastern regions. Various projects have been suggested to the target audiences to have a chance to start a new life with a new career There have been measures created on employment to support the target population who are at risk of unemployment, to prepare for career skills adjustments and have the ability to respond to business needs, as well as create new career skills to accommodate changes after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.
