MOL Products Online Merchants Expanding Occupational Channels in the New Normal

          The Deputy Labour Minister showed delight for the DSD producing more online merchants, expanding occupational channels in the New Normal in Kha Na Yao district, to guarantee independent careers in the new era covering all areas.

          On December 18, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat awarded certificates to people who received training in selling products online at the Khan Na Yao District Office. She also observed a demonstration on self-employment, including tea and coffee making and plastic basket weaving to make a mask lanyard. There was also an activity to educate the certification of knowledge and abilities, credit consulting, access to funding from the Government Savings Bank, and business consulting from the Small Industry Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) to over 100 people in the Kha Na Yao area at the Khun Yai School for the Elderly, Kha Na Yao, Bangkok. The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Pairoj Chotiksetian and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion.

          Prof. Narumon said that the government, led by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, cares about people in their careers amid the Covid-19 outbreak and the global economic slowdown. The Prime Minister wishes for the people to have a career, income, and good well-being, to reduce inequality as much as possible. It is one of the missions of the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development (DSD) to increase career opportunities by providing knowledge and skill development that can be used to pursue a career following the theme of “Create, Elevate and Give; Uniting Thailand to Build a Nation.” The “create” component is creating a new career following the situation, whereby “giving” opportunities for all groups of people to learn and develop new career skills. Today, certificates were awarded to those who have received training in selling products online. This is a course that is currently popular and has received a lot of attention. It is a profession that can be easily done and done anywhere, reducing costs as there is no need to invest in the storefront, pay rent, and pay employees. Products can be sold 24 hours a day and align with the government’s social spacing policy. Thus, online product sales play a greater role in today’s business landscape. This can be seen from the increasing growth rate of e-Commerce businesses each year that has increased by over one hundred million Baht. Trends continue to rise. As a result, organizations, whether they are large traders or small retailers, are shifting more to online trading.

          The Deputy Labour Minister continued that today’s activities were a result of the participation of network partners involved, including the government, private sector, and local people. It aims to provide people with comprehensive and equitable access to services according to the agency’s mission so that the trainees can use mobile applications as a business channel and make money by selling products online. Trainees can also develop skills and techniques and continue to develop themselves. The online merchandising training is 18 hours of training conducted by the Bangkok Institute of Skill Development 13. The training is between December 16 – 18, 2020, and the content consists of learning about e-commerce, opening an online store, techniques for product selection for distribution, and laws related to e-commerce. For commercial selection techniques, participants will learn from consumer demand surveys, market surveys, new product designs, and product design to add value to the product, including naming techniques and product photography for online sales.
