June 30, 2025 – Mr. Boonsong Tapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of Labour, presided over the opening ceremony of the Social Security Office Public Relations Officer Development Program. The event was attended by Mrs. Marasri Jairangsi, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office (SSO), along with ministry executives, SSO leadership, and public relations staff from both central and regional offices, at TK Palace & Convention Hotel, Bangkok.
Mr. Boonsong Tapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of Labour, expressed his pleasure in chairing the opening ceremony and highlighted that the program was designed to strengthen the capacity of PR personnel by equipping them with knowledge, understanding, and creative thinking skills that can be applied to improve organizational communication. The training aims to help participants manage information effectively, ensuring that SSO’s work and initiatives are clearly and accurately communicated to the public. It emphasizes the importance of proactive, aligned, and consistent communication nationwide and encourages the formation of a strong PR network. He urged attendees to apply what they learn in their daily work to enhance their capabilities and contribute to a positive image of the SSO.
Mrs. Marasri Jairangsi, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, stated that the SSO’s main mission is to provide stable and appropriate social protection to insured persons through the Social Security and Workmen’s Compensation Funds. Currently, the SSO oversees over 26.7 million insured persons and over 500,000 employers. Given this responsibility, she stressed the importance of continuous public awareness efforts among employers, employees, insured persons, and all stakeholders, ensuring they understand the office’s mission and performance accurately and thoroughly.
The Social Security Office’s Secretary-General further elaborated that the Public Relations Officer Development Program runs from June 30 to July 2, 2025, with 261 officials from across the country participating. The training content includes crisis communication strategies, insights into what the public wants to know about the SSO, techniques for handling negative news professionally, creating engaging content for online audiences, strategic media dissemination planning, and peer-to-peer exchange of PR ideas and experiences. The program aims to enhance professional PR standards and deliver maximum benefit to employers and insured persons alike.
