On March 5, 2020, at 15.00 hours, Her Royal Highness Princess Ubol Ratana, President of the project, granted royal permission for Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol to preside over the ceremony and the royal award for the provincial TO BE NUMBER ONE contest and associations in the central and eastern regions of 2020. The occasion took place at the Ambassador City Hotel, Jomtien, Pattaya, Chonburi Province. The Permanent Secretary for Labour said that it is a great honour to be assigned by the President of the TO BE NUMBER ONE project, as a representative in serving the announcement within the ceremony, and to present the royal award in the provincial and district TO BE NUMBER ONE associations in the central and eastern regions of 2020. He also said that he would like to commemorate the benevolence of the President of the TO BE NUMBER ONE project, who has dedicated herself to carry out the project, which aims to prevent and resolve drug problems nationwide. The Princess is central for creating unity among all sectors in the implementation of the TO BE NUMBER ONE project to achieve its objectives and achieve the goal of Thai youths staying away from drugs.
Mr. Suthi further said that the Ministry of Labour, as the primary unit of the TO BE NUMBER ONE project, has supported and continued the project in response to the wishes of the project president. It has assigned Provincial Labour Offices as an essential mechanism for integration and collaboration with local network agencies for the development of Thai labour to stay far away from drugs. He also congratulated provincial and district TO BE NUMBER ONE associations and commended each team that entered the contest. Participants were able to get together to exchange and learn concepts and guidelines for the prevention and resolution of drug problems, both at the provincial, district and association levels, expanding their operations to create a new generation of people, to be quality people.
The event’s activities in the morning included contest rules which were clarified by TO BE NUMBER ONE Advisor M.L. Yupadi Siriwann, and Secretary-General of the TO BE NUMBER ONE Foundation. As for the afternoon activities, the winners of each category were decided and received royal awards from Her Royal Highness Princess Ubol Ratana, President of the TO BE NUMBER ONE project, presented by Permanent Secretary of Labour.
