On May 24, 2025, Mr. Ari Krainara, Secretary to the Minister of Labor, presided over a ceremony to present basic vocational toolkits (livelihood starter kits) to graduates of two training programs. The programs included “Value Addition to Agricultural Products through Processing” for 21 participants, and a “Garment Sewing” course for 20 participants. The initiative aims to provide workers with essential tools to further develop their careers and sustainably support themselves and their families.
The event was attended by Mr. Komes Piyaphan, Inspector-General of the Department of Skill Development; Mr. Sutthipan Ritthirut, Mayor of Chawang Subdistrict Municipality; Mr. Thammasak Phumisarn and Mr. Itthiphon Pluem, Deputy Mayors of Chawang Subdistrict Municipality; Mr. Apirat Inthanu, Secretary to the Mayor; Mrs. Kotchakorn Ritthirut, Advisor to the Mayor; and Ms. Suksri Laikasikam, Director of the Skill Development Institute 22 Nakhon Si Thammarat, who delivered the official report. Also in attendance were heads of government agencies, officials from the Ministry of Labor in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, local leaders, and community representatives. The ceremony took place at the Chawang Municipality Meeting Room in Chawang District.
Speaking after the ceremony, Mr. Ari expressed his honor and appreciation for the opportunity to present the toolkits to program graduates. He emphasized that the initiative is part of the Ministry of Labor’s key policies, which align with the government’s mission to improve the quality of life and well-being of Thai citizens. The Ministry aims to equip people with necessary skills, support employment, generate income, and ensure access to proper welfare systems.
He reiterated the policy set forth by Minister of Labor, Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn:
“Strong social security, emphasis on modern skills, jobs for Thais, a culture of safety, and a stable Thai economy.”
The project, implemented by the Department of Skill Development, targets 339,710 participants nationwide in 2025. To date, 254,090 individuals have already undergone training. At the regional level, the Skill Development Institute 22 Nakhon Si Thammarat has set a target of 460 participants, with 244 having completed the training so far.
In this round, 41 graduates from two training programs — each spanning 30 hours — will receive toolkits. The “Value Addition to Agricultural Products through Processing” course was conducted from February 24–28, 2025, at the multipurpose building of Chawang School. The “Garment Sewing” course was held from March 21–25, 2025, at the Chawang Municipality Meeting Room.
The training programs primarily target recipients of state welfare cards, informal workers, general laborers, and freelancers, aiming to enhance their employability and economic self-reliance.
“I sincerely hope that each of you will apply the knowledge, skills, and toolkits you have gained to create new opportunities, generate income, and reduce costs in your professional endeavors,” Mr. Ari stated. “May you take pride in your achievements and gain recognition from society for your value and dignity, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the local economy.”
