The Surat Thani Social Security Office, commenced the project to create electronic employer files, focusing on converting the paper-based system into electronic file storage. The project will help find information quickly and be more productive, resulting in fast and convenient services.
On March 12, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng chaired the opening ceremony of the project to create electronic employer files today, which took place at the Surat Thani Social Security Office. Deputy Governor of Surat Thani Province Mrs. Jamjit Poonsawat gave a welcoming speech. The Social Security Office’s Inspector-General Mr. Boonsong Tapchaiyuth gave a report, and Surat Thani Social Security Officer Mrs. Marasri Jairangsri gave a welcoming. The Assistant to the Labour Minister said that in the implementation of the electronic employer file project, he thanked the Social Security Office for providing the project importance and for paying attention to the urgent policy of the Ministry of Labour. The Labour Minister assigned to the ministry’s executives to help develop its work and improve the level of service to people so that the Ministry of Labour can become a digital service ministry. The project aims to promote the civil service system by converting the paper-based system into electronic file storage. The Social Security Office has set a target of over 900,000 files. Today, the project commenced nationwide among agencies, which will be an essential mechanism for changing the work processes of the Ministry of Labour to drive to Thailand 4.0. He also requested the implementation of electronic file creation to be a success, to be able to serve employers, employees, and insurers as intended by the Social Security Office.
The Social Security Office’s Secretariat Mr. Todsaphon Kritwongwiman said that Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul assigned the urgent policy in 2020 to accelerate the workforce transformation. He also delivered an important policy to upgrade electronic services to become a digital government, for the people to access services with convenience, speed, and transparency, and adhere to good governance. The Social Security Office has adopted guidelines for improving services for employers, employees, and insurers by implementing the project to create electronic employer files. It is a project whereby the Social Security Office aims to reform the system and operational methods by converting paper-based records to electronic forms, using technology innovation in data management, which is called “electronic files,” to manage information. The database will have up to 926,183 files stored electronically. For Surat Thani, there are 13,996 files with 7,705 employers and 124,017 employees or insurers. The information will be stored electronically, whereby the Social Security Office’s staff will be able to access the system to provide services to employers, employees, insurers, and the general public, with convenience and speed, covering all details to facilitate users. The initiative is a response to the 20-year national strategy, strategy 6, to balance and develop the public management system.
For the project in creating electronic employer files, today is the first day that the “Click Off” was organized nationwide in every office. The goal is to complete 918,502 employer files in electronic formats by 2021. Each region organized activities in this format, across four areas, namely the northern part, held in Phitsanulok province, the northeastern region organized in Khon Kaen province, the central region, organized in Samut Sakhon province and the southern territory, organized in Surat Thani.
