Taxi Network Thanks PM and Labour Minister for Support Amid Crisis and Relieves Traffic Infront of MOL

          On August 4, 2021, at 16.30 hours, the Taxi Driver Network, led by Mr. Thanapon Tiewcharoen, a member of the Thai Taxi Association, and friends and members, arrived in front of the Ministry of Labour, Mitmaitri Road, Din Daeng District. Mr. Thanapon said that today, his friend and himself, who are members of the Thai Taxi Association, traveled to the area in front of the Ministry of Labour to put up signage showing messages of thanks to the Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, for seeing the importance and compassion for taxi drivers. He said that the taxi drivers are happy for the support they have been given with the dry foods to ease the burden among taxi driver’s families. Therefore, they moved the parked taxis away from the entrance to the Ministry of Labour to not obstruct the traffic.

          Mr. Thanapon continued that on behalf of taxis, he thanked the Prime Minister and the Labour Minister for supporting rice, dry foods, drinking water, instant noodles, alcohol spray, and the many things given as kindness in times of crisis. The kindness extended to them will remedy the drivers and their families. He said that he was glad and proud that the government supported taxis in general and not only the members of the cooperative this time as well.

          Previously, on August 2, the President of the Thai Taxi Association, Mr. Witoon Naewpanich, met with Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin to report the issues faced by taxi drivers. The Labour Minister informed that it is the Prime Minister’s concern to take care of everyone. Initially, 1,000 bags of rice at 5 kilograms per bag were given to alleviate the impact. Taxi brothers who picked up the goods were grateful and thanked the Prime Minister for remembering them.
