Labour Minister Assigns Secretariat to Join ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting to Strengthen Cooperation and Protect Workers’ Rights Equally

          On October 28, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Suthep Chitvong, as the head of the Thai delegation, together with the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, and delegation. The Thai Ambassador to Manila, Mr. Tul Traisorat, welcomed the delegation during the 27th ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting (ALMM) between October 27 to 29 in Manila, the Philippines.           Mr. Suthep said the meeting was a forum for leaders to promote labour cooperation among ASEAN member countries and exchange views on implementing the ASEAN Labour Ministers Framework Program. This year, the meeting reported on the performance and progress of related issues of member countries, such as linking social security rights for migrant workers in the ASEAN region, promoting a competitive ASEAN workforce, human resource development for the changing world of jobs, the future of work and the use of technology for inclusive and sustainable growth. Labour Minister Commences Home & Condo Expo to Stimulate the Real Estate Sector and Drive the Country’s Economy

          On October 27, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, presided over the 42nd Home & Condo Expo opening ceremony. The Ministry of Labour’s senior executives and relevant agencies also joined the occasion at Hall 5, Queen Sirikit Convention Center, Ratchadaphisek Road, Khlong Toei, Bangkok.           Mr. Suchart said it had been known that, over time, the three main associations of the country’s real estate industry are the Thai Condominium Association, the Thai Real Estate Association, and the Housing Business Association. The three associations are an important force from the private sector, involved in the integration of real estate business and the drive of the overall national economy to expand and grow continuously and sustainably. Labour Minister Assigns MOL Spokesperson to Receive Consumer Goods to Help Flood Victims

On October 27, 2022, at 10.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on Politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, to represent the Ministry of Labour to receive consumer goods from Sun Siam Co., Ltd., comprising drinking water, rice, instant noodles, milk, and snacks. The occasion took place at the Ministry of Labour’s foyer. Labour Minister’s Advisor Visits Ratchaburi to Commence Training for Target Groups to Enhance Opportunities for New Careers and Income

         On October 26, 2022, the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, chaired the opening of the training in the labour training program for specific target groups to increase career opportunities. The training offered a course on making wood stucco products for decoration. The occasion occurred at the Chet Samian Subdistrict Municipality Office, Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province. The Ratchaburi Provincial Deputy Governor, Mr. Angkun Silathewakul, and Mayor of Chet Samian Subdistrict, Mr. Thewan Huangtrakul, gave a welcome. MOL Organizes Volunteer Activities to Donate Relief Bags to Support Flood Victims in Chainat and Singburi Provinces

          On October 26, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the current flood crisis that has affected people’s lives in many areas. The Ministry of Labour is aware and concerned for the well-being and hygiene of the people. Today, the Ministry of Labour organized volunteer activities to donate relief bags to help flood victims. The Labour Minister assigned the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, to lead a team of the Ministry of Labour’s volunteers to visit the area to support and donate relief bags to flood victims in Chainat and Singburi Province. The first point was the headman’s office of Ban Mai Bang Kra Bien, Moo 12, Khluk Subdistrict, Sappaya District, Chainat Province.           On October 25, 2022, Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned him to chair the meeting to discuss the direction of study and analysis of the relevant legal framework of Finland and Thailand. The meeting took place at the Tian Achakul Conference Room, 10th floor, Department of Employment. Labour Minister Joins PM Delegation to Singburi to Affirm that Insured Persons Who Are Flood Victims Can Claim Social Security Compensation of 50 Percent of Wages

          On October 24, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, joined the delegation of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha to visit the area, to monitor the flooding situation and give encouragement to flood victims at Phikun Thong Temple in Phikun Thong Subdistrict, Tha Chang District, Singburi Province. Provincial governors, heads of government agencies involved, labour volunteers, and community members in the area welcomed the delegation.           Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office had taken care of the benefits of insured persons under Section 33 affected by natural disasters, such as floods, and workplaces/factories or houses in the area announced by the government. Such insured persons received compensation for lack of income in case of unemployment due to an emergency, with support of 50 percent of wages not exceeding 15,000 Baht for a maximum of 180 days. Labour Minister Assigns Spokesperson to Receive Donation of Consumer Goods to Support Flood Victims

         On October 20, 2022, at 13.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on Politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, to receive consumer goods from representatives of the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Employment Office. The Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General, Ms. Bunyawee Khophan, and the Department of Employment’s Inspector-General, Mr. Sibmuenchai Phothisin, also joined the occasion at the foyer on the ground floor Ministry of Labour. Establishments in the area had donated the goods, including ten boxes of crispy snacks, 50 boxes of instant noodles, and 40 boxes of biscuits. Labour Minister Assigns Assistant Minister from the PM’s Office Performing Duties for MOL to Visit Insured Persons in Chachoengsao Province

          On October 19, 2022, at 14.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Sergeant Major Yossingh Liamlert, to visit the area to give gifts to insured persons injured from an accident where a passenger van crashed into the back of a 6-wheel truck, including insured persons who had given birth.
