Austrian Minister of Digital and Economic Affairs Pays Courtesy Call to Labour Minister and Discusses Official Matters

          Today (February 28, 2020) at 13.30 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Ministry of Labour’s committee welcomed the Austrian Minister of Digital and Economic Affairs Mr. Georg Konetzky, as head of the Austrian delegation. Special Advisor to the EECO and former Thai Ambassador to Vienna Mr. Songsak Saichuea led the Thai delegation. The Austrian delegation paid a courtesy call and to discuss cooperation in the development of skilled labour and manpower in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), including guidelines for labour cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and the Austrian Institute for Skill Development, including cooperation in the development of Thai handicrafts in the labour market of Austria and the European Union, and other cooperation. Labour Minister’s Advisor Meets Roi Et Provincial Governor to Discuss Labour Issues

         On February 28, 2020, at 09.00 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet, the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General Ms. Pailin and heads of governments under the Ministry of Labour in Roi Et, met with Roi Et Provincial Governor Mr. Wanchai Khongkasem to discuss labour issues. The meeting discussed the increase in agricultural employment, quality employment for the elderly, caring for informal workers to have collateral, vocational training following market needs and online sales training in the OTOP group. MOL Conducts Workshop on Preparing Knowledge Management Plan for Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour

          On February 28, 2020, at 09.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Surapol Ploysuk chaired the workshop on the knowledge management plan of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour, for the 2020 fiscal year. The meeting also discussed the selection of knowledge to store in 2020 and considered the selection of knowledge that needs to be collected and made a knowledge management plan for the Office of the Permanent Secretary. Labour Minister’s Advisor Visits and Gifts Insurers in Maha Sarakham

          On February 27, 2020, at 13.00 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet visited and gave words of encouragement and gifts to insurers. The Social Security Office’s Inspector-General Ms. Pailin Chindamaneeporn and Maha Sarakham Social Security Officer Mr. Phattharaphon Tansathien led the visit to the 3 insurers, namely, Mr. Suparerk Kamsupho, an insurer under Section 33, Mr. Phiriya Phondonko, an insurer under Section 38, and Ms. Sukanya Siritanlee, an insurer under Section 33. The visit took place at the Maha Sarakham Hospital. The visiting committee then traveled to Kae Dam district in Maha Sarakham, to give gifts and encouragement to 2 insured persons with disabilities. Labour Minister’s Advisor Observes Labour Standards Assessments and Pre-Employment Training in Maha Sarakham

          On February 27, 2020, at 11.30 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet observed labour standards assessments and pre-employment training in the mechanical branch and provided certificates of competence for 5 trainees in the building electrician field, who completed the training. MOL Inspector-General Observes Occupational Alleviation Project for 2020 in Bueng Kan

          On February 27, 2020, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Niyom Songkaew observed the occupational alleviation project for 2020 at Nadi Subdistrict, Bueng Kan, Bueng Kan. He observed activities for the skill development course for air conditioning maintenance technicians. Labour Minister’s Secretariat Visits Chiang Rai and Promotes Elderly and Home Workers

            Secretariat to the Labour Minister visited elderly workers and work-at-home groups in Khun Tan, Chiang Rai, and viewed an exhibition on the work of self-employed professionals, strengthening skills and knowledge, creating jobs, and promoting communities with a sustainable income.             On February 20, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Secretariat to the Labour Minister Lt. Gen. Nanthadet Meksawat visited elderly workers and work-at-home groups at the Pa Tan Subdistrict Health Center, Khun Tan, Chiang Rai. Mayor of Pa Tan District Mr. Natthaphong Wanson welcomed the visiting committee and sheriff of Khun Tan Mr. Wuttikorn Khamma gave a welcoming speech. At present, Pa Tan district has 1,682 older people, 120 of who study at the health center. The health center has various activities related to the elderly, such as the Pa Tan Subdistrict School, which has classes every Wednesday. Permanent Secretary of Labour Visits Korat to Expedite Social Security Payments for over 4 Million Baht

          Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol traveled to Korat and urged the Social Security Office to expedite over 4 million Baht in compensation.           The event where the perpetrator used firearms in a shooting at the center of Korat and Terminal 21, Korat, resulted in a number of employees and insurers being injured, including some deaths. Labour Minister’s Advisor Advises Labour Volunteers in Sukhothai about Drug Prevention in the Workplace

           The Advisor to the Labour Minister commenced the meeting to strengthen labour volunteer networks in Sukhothai, for integration in driving the Ministry of Labour’s mission to the people in the area, and jointly prevent and resolve drug problems in the workplace.            On January 28, 2020, Labour Minister Assoc. Labour Minister Visits Robotics and Automation Learning Center in Ubon Ratchathani Towards “Thailand 4.0”

Labour Minister Instructs Monitoring Progress on Support for Thai Fishermen who Returned from Somalia
