            On August 11, 2022, at 12.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong chaired the meeting to monitor the performance of the Ministry of Labour’s mentor system. The meeting followed up on the performance reports, obstacles, suggestions, assessment results, and questions of agencies under the Ministry of Labour. The Ministry of Labour’s mentors and new civil servants from the central and regional areas attended the meeting online through Zoom Meeting. Labour Minister Assigns Assistant Minister from PM’s Office Performing Duties for MOL to Deliver Compensation to Support the Families of the Employees who Died in a Road Accident in Chachoengsao

          The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned an Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Sergeant Major Yossingh Liamlert, to visit the area to give compensation to the family of employees who died from a motorcycle accident on the Talad Bang Bo – Bang Khla Road, Plaeng Yao District, Chachoengsao Province. The incident happened on August 8, causing the death of two people, a mother and a child, Mr. Sittipong Charoensuk, insured under Section 33 of Smithiyan and Associates Company Limited. The beneficiaries are entitled to funeral expenses of 50,000 Baht. Ms. Nimnuan Pakdeesi is insured under Section 33 of A.P.S. Service Company Limited. The beneficiaries are entitled to funeral expenses of 50,000 Baht, compensation for death for 13,639.80 baht, and an old age pension of 21,668.24 Baht, totaling 85,308.04 Baht.           Sergeant Major Yossingh said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin shared his condolences to the families of the employees who suffered from the accident.           On August 9, 2022, at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, chaired the State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee Meeting No. 5/2022 to consider the petition alleging violations of Section 37 of the State Enterprise Labour Relations Act B.E. 2543, the request to approve adjustments to the maximum wage rate for employees at the level of Deputy Managing Director, and the results of the hearing of three draft announcements of the State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee. Labour Minister Assigns Secretariat to Give Compensation to the Family of the Manager of Mountain B Pub Who Died While on Duty

          On August 8, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Suthep Chitvong, and the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General, Mr. Sakdinat Sonthisakyothin, to visit the area to give compensation to the family of Mr. Wiriya Tangsanga, the Manager of Mountain B Sattahip, who died on duty while working, in the event of the fire breakout at the Mountain B Pub. The occasion took place at Wat Pa Yup, Sattahip Subdistrict, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.                     Mr. Suthep said that for Mr. Wiriya Tangsanga, the Manager of Mountain B Pub in Chonburi, the Labour Minister noted that Mr. Wiriya likely died from work duties. The employer had not registered the employee for social security or the compensation fund. Therefore, the Social Security Office has been instructed to look into the matter to assess whether the employee will be entitled to benefits from the compensation fund or not. PM Concerned For Mountain B Pub Fire in Sattahip Instructs Labour Minister to Assign Special Team to Investigate and Support Victims

            On August 5, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the fire at an entertainment establishment (MOUNTAIN B) at about 01.00 hours last night. The establishment is located at the edge of Sukhumvit Road, Bangna-Trad Moo 7, Phlu Ta Luang Subdistrict, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. As soon as the news was received, the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, expressed their concern about the incident and instructed the Ministry of Labour to urgently investigate the facts and provide immediate assistance to affected employees and employers.             On August 4, 2022, at 13.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, joined the Narcotics Control Committee Meeting No. 2/2022 online. The meeting considered the (draft) national policies and plans on prevention, suppression, and solving drug problems for 2023 – 2027, the designation of areas for experimental planting of opium poppies and cultivating buffalo dung mushrooms for research studies under Section 55 of the Drug Code, and the (draft) notification of the Ministry of Public Health on specifying the names of narcotics of category 1, 2 and 4, B.E. …. Labour Minister Assigns SSO to Urgently Support Department of Highways Employee From Cement Sheet Fall in Rama II

          On August 4, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Pathum Thani Province to visit the area to give compensation to the family of the insured persons who died from a U-turn overpass cement sheet falling onto a construction worker, an employee of the Department of Highways in the Rama 2 Road area, at the 3rd Bridge Construction and Reconstruction Center, Lat Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani Province.           Mr. Suchart said that from the incident, the U-turn bridge beam in front of Vibharam Samut Sakhon Hospital, Rama 2 Road, closed for renovation, fell on top of a car on July 31, causing one death and one injury. Mr. Chatchai Sirimart was the person who was injured and was admitted to Samut Sakhon Hospital. His symptoms are improving, and the doctor has allowed him to return home. Nakhon Pathom Labour Office Joins Second Integrated Government Inspection Region 2 Meeting for 2022 Fiscal Year

          On August 1, 2022, at 09.30 hours, the Nakhon Pathom Deputy Provincial Governor, Mr. Komsan Charoenaj, welcomed the Inspector-General from the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Charoen Suetrakul and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security’s Inspector-General Ms. Urai Leknoi, in the second Integrated Government Inspection Region 2 Meeting for the 2022 fiscal year. The meeting followed up on the performance of the plan/project according to the annual integrated government inspection plan for the 2022 fiscal year.
