Labour Minister Gives Interview to Daily New Newspaper on Caring for Over 38M Workers

            On August 27, 2020, at 08.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave an interview to Daily News newspaper on taking care of over 38 million workers by promoting skills development to up-skill and re-skill, providing workers with skills that can support them during the Covid-19 situation. The efforts are under the MOU in collaboration with the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, Ministry of Education. Through the MOU, the parties exchange information on vocational needs in line with the labour market and increase efficiency in preventing and resolving human trafficking, to upgrade the nation to Tier 1. Efforts are also aimed towards increasing social security benefits by encouraging employees to be aware of their safety and health, take good care, and prevent diseases from work. This also includes developing a Big-Data database system to serve people, ensuring information is accurate, prompt, and timely. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Commences 8th Cabling Contest in Developing People to the Global Arena

                The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour joined the commencement ceremony of the 8th Cabling Contest, to develop skills and raise the potential of labour to have the capability to compete in the world-class arena.               On August 19, 2020, at 09.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat joined the commencement ceremony for the Bangkok qualifying round for the 8th Cabling Contest. MOL Pays Compensation to Families of the Decreased from the Boat Capsize in Surat Thani of Over 3.8M Baht

          The Permanent Secretary of Labor reported that the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office has paid compensation benefits to the relatives of the three workers who died from the boat capsize in Surat Thani. The total value is over 3.8 million Baht, while the authorities are in the process of searching for the other 2 missing people.           Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol reported the progress in providing relief to employees injured and killed in the incident of Racha Ferry 4 capsize, where a chartered garbage truck crashed into the ferry in Surat Thani on the night of August 1. MOL Maritime Labour Committee Meets Following Marine Labour Act B.E. 2558

          On August 5, 2020, at 09.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the Maritime Labour Committee Meeting in accordance with the Marine Labour Act B.E. 2558, No. 2/2020, which took place at the Prof. Nikom Chandravithu meeting room, 5th floor, Department of Labour and Protection. MOL Accelerates Support for Employees Affected by Surat Thani Ferry Collapse, Compensating Families of the Deceased with Over 1.8M Baht

           The Permanent Secretary of Labour reported that the Social Security Office has accelerated support to insured employees who were injured and died from the Racha Ferry 4 collapse in Surat Thani, to ensure that the employees will receive compensation in the event of death. The Sakon Nakhon Social Security Office has been ordered to facilitate the payment of compensation to the employees’ relatives, totaling over 1.8 million Baht.              Today (August 3, 2020), Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol spoke about the progress in supporting employees who were injured and died from the Racha Ferry 4 collapse in Surat Thani, on August 1. In the initial phase, the Ministry of Labour by the Social Security Office’s Secretariat Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, ordered Surat Thani Social Security Officer Mrs. Marasri Chaisrangsee, Surat Thani Social Security Officer from Koh Samui Branch Mrs. Tharathip Thanuithong to visit the area to check the information and proceed to assist the insured employees, including the relatives and insured employees who were affected by this incident. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Observes Professional Training and Exhibition in Honour of HM the King on Occasion of HM the King’s Birthday on July 28, 2020

          On July 30, 2020, at 13.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, together with Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Tongjai Suthat Na Ayutthaya participated in professional training activities and visited the exhibition in honour of His Majesty the King, on the occasion of the HM the King’s birthday on July 28, 2020. The event was organized under the concept of the “New Normal, Thai workers under the royal umbrella, building together” project. Today, there were professional training activities, including decorative mosaic chairs, acrylic bag painting, and training on online product sales. In this regard, they visited the Job Box and free health checks from hospitals in the social security network. ‘Gen. Adul’ joins the auspicious ceremony Dedicated to the reign of King Rama 8 and 9.

          His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun assigned General Surayud Chulanont, the Privy Councilor, as a representative. The ceremony was dedicated to the reign of King Rama 8 and King Rama 9, blessing to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in the reign of King Rama 9, and pray for 12 children and 1 coach in the cave Khun Nam Nang Non, Chiang Rai, to return to safety of all danger today (Jun 29, 2018) at 18.00, His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch is the president of the ministry. In addition, General Prayut Chan-ocha, the Prime Minister and his wife, the Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor, The management team of the Ministry of Labor, and people attended the ceremony.
