Labour Minister Reveals Over 8.2M Applications to “Section 33 We Love Each Other” Project and Emphasizes for Insured Persons Without Smartphones and Haven’t Registered to Contact the SSO Nationwide from March 15-28

              Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomlin reported the number of registrations of the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project. From February 21 to March 7, 2021, a total of 8,208,286 people has registered. The next phase opens up registrations for insured persons without smartphones and who have not already registered. Insured persons in this group will need to use their Thai ID card with an embedded smartcard to register for the benefits from March 15-28, 2021. Those who have registered but were denied can request a rights review on the M33WeLoveEachOther.com website from March 15 to 28, 2021.           On March 8, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the number of registrations of the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project on the M33WeLoveEachOther.com website. Labour Minister Shows Concern for 318 Employees from Oil-Palm Cooperative Assembly in Krabi; Urges SSO to Urgently Assist in Rightful Benefits

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin showed concern to the 318 employees of the oil-palm cooperative assembly in Ao Luek, Krabi, whereby the employer issued a notice to cease business operations and dismiss employees, effective from March 1 onwards. The SSO and the Ministry of Labour’s agencies have proactively followed up on the cause of the business cessation announcement, and the termination of employment and have urgently provided assistance and remedial rights under the law.           On March 8, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the oil-palm cooperative assembly case in Ao Luek, Krabi, whereby the company announced a business closure and laid off 318 employees. Labour Minister Reports “Section 33 We Love Each Other” Project Closes Online Registrations Today; Rights Reviews and Registrations for Non-Smartphone Users Open from March 15-28 in SSO Branches Nationwide

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave an overview of the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project registrations. From February 21 to March 7, 2021, a total of 8,185,079 people has registered. In the next phase, registrations for insured persons without smartphones will open from March 15-28, 2021, and then for rights reviews. The process will require one ID card for contact at the Social Security Offices in Bangkok and branches and provinces nationwide.           On March 7, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave an overview of the online registrations for the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project through the www.M33WeLoveEachOther.com website. Labour Minister Delighted for Almost 8 Million Registrations to “Section 33 We Love Each Other” Project in First Five Days Accounting for Over 90 Percent of Eligible Persons

           Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomlin was delighted that the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project has seen a continual rise in online registrations through the first five days. To date (February 26, 2021, at 08.00 hours), a total of 7,909,258 people have registered, which is close to 8 million. The registrations account for over 90 percent of all eligible persons. The Labour Minister insisted that the SSO already has a database of employers and individual employees and assured that insured persons under Section 33 do not worry about lost information. For insured persons who are still unable to register, the system will open for a rights review on March 15. Labour Minister Assigns Secretariat to “Co-Payment Workers’ Meeting” Nationwide with Chiang Mai Visit on November 28

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitvong as chairman over the commencement of the “Co-Payment Workers’ Meeting in Chiang Mai” event. He met with employers/companies to drive the project to employ over 5,000 new graduates in the area.           On November 28, 2020, the Labour Minister assigned the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayavong to preside over the “Co-Payment Workers’ Meeting in Chiang Mai” event. Assistant to the Permanent Secretary Joins 18th SLOM+3 Meeting

          Today (October 27, 2020) at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Pattraporn Samatrat, as head of the delegation as ASEAN Senior Labour Officer (SLOM) for Thailand, to attend the 18th ASEAN Plus Three (SLOM + 3) Senior Labour Officials Meeting through video conference at the Sangsingkeaw Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The meeting acknowledged the progress of activities on labour with the ASEAN Plus Three countries on occupational safety and health, labour relations, skill development promotion, and the promotion of social safety networks. The meeting discussed proposals/projects under the SLOM + 3 2021-2025 plan. It comprises six areas, including 1) Human resource development, 2) Integrated growth, 3) Sustainable development, 4) Social partnerships, 5) Occupational safety and health, and 6) Protection. MOL Labour Skill Development Promotion Committee Meets for 8/2020

          Today (October 21, 2020) at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the meeting of the Labour Skill Development Promotion Committee No. 8/2020 with relevant departments at the Pakorn Angsusingh meeting room, 10th floor, Department of Skill Development. The meeting sought approval for the draft announcement of the Skill Development Promotion Committee on the National Skill Standards Qualifications of persons who pass the National Skill Standard Level 2-4, assessment methods, and the issuance of a certificate as a person who passed the Level 2 test for an electrician in the information network cabling branch. The meeting also requested approval to certify the labour skill standard of professionals under Section 26 of the Skill Development Promotion Act B.E. 2545 and approval for the 10th subcommittee’s appointment on technical skills competitions for the disabled in 15 branches.           The Labour Minister reported that the Prime Minister gives importance to deploying Thai workers to work abroad. He commended Thai workers for encompassing skills that are recognized by foreign employers and emphasized that officials at the Suvarnabhumi Jobseekers Checkpoint facilitate the 895 Thai fruit pickers returning to Finland and Sweden.                The Ministry of Labour organizes the Job Expo Thailand 2020, the largest national job expedition, to alleviate unemployment suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic and economic stagnation. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin was chairman of the ceremony and attended the event’s press conference among the media and many honoured guests such as Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL., the Minor Food Group PCL., and PTT. The event took place at the Ministry of Labour’s Jompol P. MOL Commences Knowledge Sharing Program on Convention 100 on Equal Remuneration, 1951, and Convention 111 on Discrimination in Respect of Employment and Occupation, 1958

            On September 10, 2020, at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the knowledge sharing program’s commencement on Convention No. 100 on equal remuneration for male and female workers in equal work, 1951 and Convention No. 111 on discrimination regarding employment and occupation, 1958. Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Aumpun Thuvavit also joined the occasion at the Centara Grand Hotel, Central World, Bangkok.             The project included lectures on the work of the expert committee on the implementation of conventions and recommendations. The event took place in the form of lectures in training rooms and on-line lectures to raise awareness of equal compensation and employment and career discrimination, for all departments and sectors to have aligned understanding. The knowledge will promote a fair society in terms of working compensation, free from discrimination in employment and occupation, to meet the two conventions’ objectives.                 The Labour Minister reported that the Ministry of Labour met with government agencies and private sector companies to prepare for the JOB EXPO THAILAND 2020, scheduled on September 26-28, 2020, at BITEC Bangna.
