วันที่ 17 ตุลาคม 2566 นายไพโรจน์ โชติกเสถียร ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน เปิดเผยถึงความคืบหน้ากรณีแรงงานไทยที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากความไม่สงบในประเทศอิสราเอลและได้เดินทางกลับประเทศไทย ซึ่งมีความกังวลว่าจะไม่ได้กลับไปทำงานในอิสราเอลอีกนั้น เกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้ กระทรวงแรงงานไม่ได้นิ่งนอนใจ ผมได้สั่งการให้ อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษา (ฝ่ายแรงงาน) ประจำสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเทลอาวีฟ ประเทศอิสราเอล ประสานหารือ กับทางการอิสราเอลเรียบร้อยแล้ว
ซึ่งล่าสุดได้รับหนังสือแจ้งข่าวดี จากสำนักงานบริหารแรงงานต่างชาติ (Foreign Workers Administration) ของอิสราเอล ว่า ได้อนุญาตให้แรงงานต่างชาติในภาคเกษตรที่เดินทางออกจากอิสราเอลโดยไม่ได้ขอวีซ่า re-entry ในช่วงเหตุความสงบที่เกิดขึ้นหลายวันที่ผ่านมานี้ ได้รับการผ่อนผันให้สามารถเดินทางกลับเข้าไปทำงานที่อิสราเอลได้ ผ่านกระบวนการพิเศษ โดยเบื้องต้นแรงงานที่ประสงค์เดินทางกลับไปทำงานสามารถแจ้งความประสงค์ได้ผ่านทางบริษัทจัดหางาน 12 แห่ง ของอิสราเอล
นายไพโรจน์ กล่าวต่อว่า สำนักงานบริหารแรงงานต่างชาติ (Foreign Workers Administration) ของอิสราเอลยังแจ้งอีกว่า เมื่อสถานการณ์กลับเข้าสู่ภาวะปกติ หากลูกจ้างต้องการที่จะกลับมาทำงานในอิสราเอล บริษัทเอกชนจะต้องดำเนินการจัดส่งความต้องการดังกล่าวมายังสำนักงาน Foreign Workers Administration ตามความจำเป็น
“ ท่านพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงานมีความห่วงใยแรงงานทุกคน และให้ความสำคัญกับภารกิจการช่วยเหลือพี่น้องแรงงานไทยในครั้งนี้ โดยให้เป็นภารกิจเร่งด่วนที่กระทรวงแรงงานต้องติดตามอย่างใกล้ชิดและให้ความสำคัญเรื่องนี้สูงสุด ผมขอให้พี่น้องแรงงานไทยคลายกังวลเรื่องการกลับไปทำงานที่อิสราเอล กระทรวงแรงงานจะดำเนินการอย่างเต็มที่ในการประสานให้แรงงานไทยสามารถกลับเข้าไปทำงานที่อิสราเอลได้อีกครั้งเมื่อเหตุการณ์คลี่คลายลง ขณะเดียวกัน อิสราเอลเองก็ให้ความสำคัญกับการทำให้แรงงานต่างชาติเดินทางกลับมาทำงานในอิสราเอลได้อีกครั้ง โดยเฉพาะแรงงานไทยซึ่งมีความสำคัญเป็นอย่างยิ่งต่อภาคเกษตรกรรมของอิสราเอล และมีส่วนสำคัญในการช่วยขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจของทั้งสองเทศ ”นายไพโรจน์ กล่าวท้ายสุด
On October 17, 2023, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Phairoj Chotikasatian, spoke about the Thai workers affected by the unrest in Israel who have returned to Thailand and are concerned that they will not be able to return to work in Israel again. The Ministry of Labour has instructed the Minister Counselor (on Labour) at the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, and has already coordinated discussions with the Israeli authorities.
They recently received a letter from Israel’s Foreign Workers Administration informing them of good news that they will allow the return of foreign agricultural workers who left Israel without applying for a re-entry visa during the unrest during the past several days. Such workers will receive a waiver and can return to work in Israel through a special process. Initially, workers wishing to return to work can submit their request through 12 Israeli employment agencies.
Mr. Phairoj continued that Israel’s Foreign Workers Administration also informed that when the situation returns to normal if the employee wishes to return to work in private companies in Israel, they must submit the requirements to the Foreign Workers Administration as needed.
“The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, cares for all workers and gives importance to helping Thai workers. It is an urgent mission that the Ministry of Labour follows closely and gives the highest priority to. I would like to ask Thai workers to relieve their worries about returning to work in Israel. The Ministry of Labour will do its utmost to coordinate and support Thai workers to return to work in Israel once the situation has been resolved. Meanwhile, Israel is also prioritizing making it possible for foreign workers to return to work in Israel again, especially Thai workers, who are important to Israel’s agricultural sector. Thai workers play an important role in helping drive the economies of both countries,” Mr. Phairoj concluded.
