วันที่ 31 มีนาคม 2566 นายสุชาติ ชมกลิ่น รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน กล่าวมอบโอวาทให้กับข้าราชการกระทรวงแรงงานที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้ไปประจำการในต่างประเทศ จำนวน 7 คน โดยมี นายบุญชอบ สุทธมนัสวงษ์ ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน พร้อมด้วยผู้บริหารระดับสูงกระทรวงแรงงาน เข้าร่วมในครั้งนี้ด้วย ณ ห้องจัตุมงคล ชั้น 6 อาคารกระทรวงแรงงาน
นายสุชาติ กล่าวว่า ผมขอแสดงความยินดีกับข้าราชการทุกท่านที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้ไปประจำการในต่างประเทศ ภารกิจหน้าที่ของทูตแรงงานและที่ปรึกษาฝ่ายแรงงานนั้นนอกจากจะทำหน้าที่อำนวยความสะดวก ดูแลแรงงานไทยที่ไปทำงานในต่างประเทศให้ได้รับสิทธิประโยชน์ความคุ้มครอง ยังจะต้องทำหน้าที่ขยายตลาดแรงงานให้กว้างขึ้นควบคู่ไปด้วย เพื่อเพิ่มโอกาสให้คนไทยได้ไปทำงานในต่างประเทศมากขึ้น อีกทั้งต้องใช้ทักษะ ความรู้ความสามารถและประสบการณ์ของตนเองในการบริหารจัดการ โดยเฉพาะการตัดสินใจในแต่ละเรื่องต้องมีความละเอียดรอบคอบ เพื่อรักษาความมั่นคงของประเทศและสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างประเทศ
นายสุชาติ กล่าวต่อว่า สิ่งสำคัญที่ได้เน้นย้ำให้ทูตแรงงานและที่ปรึกษาฝ่ายแรงงานนำไปยึดถือเป็นแนวทางในการปฏิบัติราชการ คือ การแสดงออกถึงความจงรักภักดีและเทิดทูนต่อสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ เป็นผู้นำ ปลูกฝัง สร้างความเข้มแข็ง สมัครสมานสามัคคีในหมู่คณะ ตลอดจนเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเนื่องในโอกาสวันสำคัญต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวกับสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ร่วมกับแรงงานไทย และอาสาสมัครแรงงานในต่างประเทศ รวมทั้งเป็นที่พึ่งของคนไทยในต่างประเทศได้ เนื่องจากข้าราชการที่ไปประจำการในต่างประเทศทุกคนถือเป็นการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในฐานะทีมประเทศไทย (Team Thailand) ด้วยเช่นกัน
ทั้งนี้ ปัจจุบัน กระทรวงแรงงาน มีสำนักงานแรงงานไทยในต่างประเทศ จำนวน 12 แห่ง 11 ประเทศ โดยในครั้งนี้มีข้าราชการกระทรวงแรงงาน ที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้ไปประจำการที่สำนักงานแรงงานไทยในต่างประเทศ 6 แห่ง ได้แก่ ฝ่ายแรงงาน ประจำสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเทลอาวีฟ ประเทศอิสราเอล สำนักงานแรงงานในประเทศซาอุดิอาระเบีย (กรุงริยาด) สำนักงานแรงงานในประเทศสิงคโปร์ สำนักงานแรงงาน ณ กรุงมะนิลา (ส่วนที่ 2) สาขาเมืองเกาสง ฝ่ายแรงงาน ณ นครเจนีวา ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ และสำนักงานแรงงาน ณ กรุงมะนิลา (ส่วนที่ 2) กรุงไทเป เป็นต้น

On March 31, 2023, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, delivered an address to the Ministry of Labor officials appointed to be stationed in foreign countries. The Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion at the Chatumongkol room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
Mr. Suchart congratulated all civil servants appointed to serve in foreign countries. The duties and responsibilities of labour ambassadors and advisors are to facilitate and take care of Thai workers abroad to ensure protection and benefits and expand the labour market abroad to increase opportunities for Thai people to work overseas. It requires skill, knowledge, ability, and management experience. In particular, the decision in each matter must be carefully detailed to maintain the country’s stability and build good relations between countries.
Mr. Suchart said that the important thing that has been emphasized to the labour ambassadors and advisors to use as a guideline for performing official duties is to demonstrate loyalty and respect for the monarchy, lead, cultivate, build strength, create unity in the group, and participate in activities on important days related to the monarchy, with Thai workers and volunteer workers abroad. They must also be relied on by Thai people abroad because all civil servants stationed in foreign countries are considered to perform their duties as Team Thailand.
The Ministry of Labour has 12 Thai Labour Offices across 11 countries. On this occasion, six officials from the Ministry of Labour were appointed to be stationed at six overseas Thai Labour Offices, including the Labour Department at the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), the Labour Office in Singapore, the Manila Labour Office (Section 2), Kaohsiung Branch, the Labour Department in Geneva, Switzerland and the Labour Office in Manila (Section 2), Taipei.
