วันที่ 22 ตุลาคม 2566 นายไพโรจน์ โชติกเสถียร ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน เปิดเผยว่า หลังจากที่กระทรวงแรงงานได้ส่งเจ้าหน้าที่ จำนวน 10 คน ไปปฏิบัติภารกิจอพยพแรงงานจากอิสราเอลกลับไทย โดยปฏิบัติงานในพื้นที่จุดอพยพต่าง ๆ รวมทั้งที่สนามบิน เพื่อทำหน้าที่ในการประสาน อำนวยความสะดวกด้านเอกสาร รวมถึงการรวบรวมแรงงานไทย นั้น ได้รับรายงานว่าตั้งแต่ไปปฏิบัติหน้าที่วันที่ 15 ตุลาคม 2566 ถึงปัจจุบัน (วันที่ 20ตุลาคม 2566) มีคนไทยเดินทางมายังศูนย์พักพิงฯ จำนวนรวม 2,541 คน ขณะที่ตอนนี้ สามารถพาคนไทยและแรงงานไทย เดินทางกลับประเทศไทยได้ แล้วจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 2,823 คน ตอนนี้มีผู้ลงทะเบียนแจ้งความประสงค์กลับประเทศไทย จำนวน 8,439 คน และแจ้งไม่ประสงค์กลับประเทศไทย จำนวน 118 คน
ล่าสุด รัฐบาลมีการปรับแผนการอพยพคนไทย โดยตั้งแต่วันนี้ (22 ตุลาคม 2566 เป็นต้นไป) จะลำเลียงคนไทยที่ต้องการกลับประเทศไปพักคอยที่นครดูไบ สหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ก่อน ซึ่งจะมีเครื่องบินขนาดใหญ่ ที่รัฐบาลจะจ้างเหมาลำระหว่างเทลอาวีฟมายังดูไบ จะใช้เวลาประมาณ 3 ชั่วโมง ซึ่งขณะนี้ทางกระทรวงแรงงานได้เตรียมพร้อมในทุกด้านเพื่อรองรับคนไทยและแรงงานไทยที่จะอพยพเข้าไปเรียบร้อยแล้ว
อย่างไรก็ดี เชื่อมั่นว่า จะสามารถพาแรงงานไทยกลับบ้านได้ตามที่รัฐบาลกำหนดเป้าหมายไว้ และเร็วขึ้น หลังจากที่หลายหน่วยงานประสานความร่วมมือส่งเจ้าหน้าที่ไปสนับสนุนภารกิจที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ รวมทั้ง การเพิ่มเที่ยวบินรับแรงงานไทย
นายไพโรจน์ กล่าวต่อว่า ในส่วนของแรงงานไทยที่เดินทางกลับมาด้วยตนเอง และกังวลเรื่องค่าใช้จ่ายนั้น เกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้ นั้น เมื่อเดินทางกลับมาประเทศไทยแล้ว ขอให้แรงงานไทยเก็บหลักฐานการเดินทาง ได้แก่ Boarding pass/ใบเสร็จ/ตั๋วเครื่องบิน ไว้ เพื่อใช้ในการขอรับเงินค่าตั๋วเครื่องบิน ต่อไป
On October 22, 2023, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Phairoj Chotikasatian, spoke about the Ministry of Labour sending ten officials to carry out a mission to evacuate workers from Israel back to Thailand. The officials are working in various evacuation points, including airports, to coordinate and facilitate documents and to gather Thai workers. Since going on duty on October 15, 2023, to the present (October 20, 2023), a total of 2,541 Thai people have traveled to the shelter. Thai people and workers can now travel back to Thailand, whereby 2,823 people have successfully returned. There are 8,439 people who have registered their intention to return to Thailand and 118 people who have notified their intention not to return.
Recently, the government has adjusted the immigration plan for Thai people. From today (October 22, 2023, onwards), Thai people who want to return to the country will travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, first. There will be a large aircraft that the government will charter from Tel Aviv to Dubai, which will take approximately 3 hours. The Ministry of Labour has prepared all aspects to accommodate Thai people and workers who will return.
It is believed that Thai workers will be able to return home faster, as the government has targeted. Many agencies are working to send officials to support missions at the Embassy, including increasing flights to receive Thai workers.
Mr. Phairoj continued that Thai workers who return on their own and are worried about the cost when they return to Thailand should keep their travel evidence, including boarding passes/receipts/airplane tickets, for use in requesting reimbursement for airplane tickets as a next step.
