There was a recent report by a Thai worker that the recruitment company that deployed the workers in Uzbekistan, informed the 94 Thai workers of the facilitation of their return to Thailand. All 94 Thai workers will return to Thailand on August 13 and the remaining seven wish to continue working in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Labour has assigned the provincial employment offices in the area where the 94 Thai workers reside, to facilitate the payment of benefits from the fund. As for the wages paid in July, although some of the workers’ contracts will expire on August 2, 9,10 and 15, the recruitment company has coordinated with the employer, which will continue to transfer unpaid wages to the employee.

One Thai worker said he and his friends were delighted to go home. They thanked the Thai government, Ministry of Labour and all relevant agencies in the coordination of support, as well as the facilitation to help them travel back to Thailand safely.
