The Deputy Labour Minister moved forward in distributing food boxes to the Din Daeng-Huay Kwang area to alleviate the suffering and encourage workers to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
On August 8, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that she had assigned the team to deliver food boxes to help the people since July 22, 2021. Almost 20,000 food boxes have been distributed to date. The effort aims to help construction camp workers, medical personnel stationed at the main hospitals and field hospitals, volunteers supporting COVID-19 patients, and people in various communities that have been affected, especially for families who are unemployed and have no income. Receiving one food box for one family can reduce the burden of cooking expenses for one meal. It shows that the food boxes being delivered to the recipient’s hand can help and alleviate suffering. Yesterday (August 7, 2021), food boxes were delivered to community coordinators in Din Daeng and Huai Khwang districts to distribute to the communities, including the Darun community (Pracha Songkhro 16), Na Thong community, Bueng Rama 9 community, and Prachauthit 18 community. Today more were distributed to the Tinakorn community, Khong Phasuk community, Inthamara 51 community, Rong Poon (Pine) community, Petch Phra Ram community, and Lat Phrao 80 community.
The Deputy Labour Minister added that for upcountry areas, the Department of Skill Development in the region had received support from skill development network partners to help those affected by COVID-19, such as the Chiang Mai Institute of Skill Development 19. Agencies under the Ministry of Labour have worked with the district administration officials and district health officials to examine and recommend boosting awareness of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace, especially large organizations at risk of employee infection. The Krabi Provincial Skill Development Office received 72 fans from the Krabi Hotels Association, Chef’s Association, Food and Beverage Management Association, and a team of lecturers and staff to deliver to the third field hospital in Krabi province. Some provinces have also sent a team of electricians to help with the electrical wiring in the field hospitals.
“Thank you for the generosity of all parties who have been a part of supporting each other. The Ministry of Labour will continue to assist and alleviate the suffering of the workforce and all people to move through this crisis together,” the Deputy Labour Minister concluded.
