On July 30, 2019, Head of the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-Generals Mrs. Achara Kaewgamchaicharoen, the Department of Skill Developments Inspector-General Mr. Wirat Khansorn and the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General Mr. Pongsak Sasimahasak examined the progress of the performance following the government’s monitoring evaluation plan for 2019, for the third round, in Surin province. In the morning, the Inspector-General chaired the provincial labour meeting with officials at the Provincial Labour Office meeting room, to follow up on its performance. The committee also met with the heads of government agencies and officials under the Ministry of Labour to monitor the performance following the government monitoring evaluation plan for 2019, for the third round. The meeting took place at the Provincial Social Security Office. The examination found that operations focused on the 3A policies with 13 items, whereby agencies audited have performed according to the project/activity as determined by the ministry and departments. In terms of budget disbursements for FY2019, the expenditure of projects/events are on target. Integration between agencies under the ministry, which is one plan, ensures coordination and communication in one direction; the target group is informal workers. The Head of the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General emphasized performance, considering the quality of work over quantity. In the afternoon, the visiting committee visited the A1(1) program operation area (1) to upgrade the skills of the workers to be quality workers, under the “Application of Arduino” curriculum, which teaches command through mobile phone. There were 23 trainees consisting of farmers/businessmen/business entrepreneurs/professors at the Surin Skill Development Office 2 (Isan Tai Arts and Crafts Center). The committee then visited the A1 (13) expansion project in integration with network partners in promoting protection and development of informal workers in silk/weaving/ silk dyeing projects among Hua Rad village, Chang Pi, totaling 40 persons. The project is an integration between the subordinate units and external agencies such as NGOs (Kwan Community Foundation). The community then followed up on employment-related topics and professional training activities following the project to resolve occupational problems in silk dyeing, mudmee, and weaving with natural colours. The training was at Krathiam, Sangkha. The evaluation found that trainees had 3,000 Baht more in income per year, with an average salary of about 12,000-15,000 Baht per year, which is to enhance the potential of workers following the current government policy.
