Labour Inspector-General Leads EU Delegation to Visit PIPO in Samut Sakhon and Worker Rehabilitation Center in Pathum Thani

            Today (February 14, 2020) at 10.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mrs. Phattana Phanfak to lead Mr. Joost Korte, Director General, Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, European Commission and the European Union delegation at a high-level dialogue on labour between Thailand and the European Union. The delegation also observed vessel and labour inspections at public docks in Bang Ya Phraek Temple, Mueang, Samut Sakhon, and visited the Port-In Port-Out Command Center (PIPO) Area 1 (Samut Sakhon). Samut Sakhon Deputy Governor Mr. Theerapat Kutchamat and Samut Sakhon Labour Officer, Samut Sakhon Employment Officer, Samut Sakhon Labour Protection and Welfare Officer and the Department of Fisheries welcomed the delegation.

            In the afternoon, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and the EU delegation visited the rehabilitation center for workers in District 1, Pathum Thani. The Pathum Thani Labour Officer, Pathum Thani Social Security Officer, and the Director of the Rehabilitation Center for Workers in Area 1 welcomed the delegation. They joined the observation of activities such as vocational rehabilitation training.
