June 24, 2026, at 09.30 hours – Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the opening of the 38th National Safety and Occupational Health Conference, organised by the Ministry of Labour through the Institute for the Promotion of Safety, Occupational Health and Working Environment (Public Organisation), or TOSH, under the theme “SYNERGY FOR SUSTAINABLE SAFETY CULTURE: Together Building a Sustainable Safety Culture.” Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, delivered the report. Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Phiphatchai Paiboon, Political Spokesperson of the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Surachat Thientong, Secretary to the Labour Minister, Mr. Kritikakon Wongsawangphanit, Adviser to the Labour Minister, Mrs. Yanika Thienthong, assigned from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat to the Ministry of Labour, and senior Ministry of Labour executives attended as honoured guests. The event was held at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre, Muang Thong Thani.
The Prime Minister emphasised that workplace safety is not the concern of any particular group of workers alone, but is a vital foundation for the sustainable development and advancement of Thailand’s economy. The world of work is currently changing at a rapid pace, with new technologies, diverse employment models, and emerging forms of risk, such as accidents involving complex machinery, time-pressured logistics work, and health problems arising from the working environment, all of which directly affect the lives, families, and economic productivity of the country. A safe workforce, he noted, is the engine of a stable economy.
Should Thailand succeed in reducing workplace accidents and losses, it would enhance the country’s competitiveness, build investor confidence, and genuinely improve the quality of life of its people. The government is therefore committed to embedding a “safety culture” as a way of life for Thai people, not merely compliance with the law, and called upon all sectors to shift their mindset from “waiting to fix problems after the fact” to “prevention before the fact,” by applying knowledge, technology, and innovation to manage risk.
Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, reaffirmed the Ministry of Labour’s readiness to implement the government’s policy to improve the quality of life for workers nationwide. He stated that the Ministry is committed to driving proactive measures to reduce workplace injury statistics to zero (Zero Accident) through rigorous law enforcement and by encouraging businesses nationwide to adopt technology and international standards. He underscored that “worker safety” is a non-negotiable priority and that the Ministry would continue to look after workers in all sectors — both formal and informal — ensuring equal access to safe and hygienic working conditions.
The Prime Minister noted that the 38th National Safety and Occupational Health Conference is not merely a showcase of achievements or an awards ceremony, but a space for learning, exchange, and networking to elevate Thailand’s safety standards to international levels. He expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Labour, TOSH, and all network partners for their collaborative efforts in transforming workplaces into environments that are “safe, high-quality, and sustainable,” which will be a vital force in building a safer society and a more stable, growing economy going forward.
