Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Give Benefits to Relatives of Employee from the Labour Mobility Project who Died from an Accident in Phetchaburi

          On September 18, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to visit the area to help the employee of Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) PCL from the systematic labour mobility project, am integration between the Ministry of Labour and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC). The employee was involved in an accident that resulted in death. The visit took place with the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi Province, comprising all five departments, the Sapang Sub-district Chief Mr. Somsak Nilyaporn and Deputy Minister of Nong Prong Subdistrict Administrative Organization Teerawat Rattanasingh. Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, have followed monitored the labour situation and expressed condolences to the family of the employee involved in the accident. The Ministry of Labour was instructed to provide assistance and ensure the compensation and benefits according to the law.

          Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned her and the team to visit Phetchaburi province to assist an employee from the systematic labour migration project, an integration between the Ministry of Labour and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC). They suffered from an accident and died. The Labour Minister gave his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and assigned the Phetchaburi Provincial Social Security Office to coordinate with the family of Ms. Saphirah Mana, the deceased, to ensure her benefits are taken care of. For initial support, Mrs. Thiwalrat and the heads of the Ministry of Labour’s departments in Phetchaburi have provided a personal contribution of 7,000 Baht. Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) PCL has offered another 20,000 Baht. In addition, according to the rights of insured persons under Section 33, in the case of death, the funeral fee will be paid from the Social Security Office for 50,000 Baht.

          The deceased was a 22-year-old youth from the three southern border provinces, domiciled in Narathiwat. She worked at Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) PCL. After working at the company for seven months, the deceased gave birth to a child. The child was only aged 15 days when she had an accident and slipped in the bathroom. She was admitted to King Mongkut’s Hospital and then died while returning home to Narathiwat. The infant was entrusted with TW Employment Co., Ltd. The company has already sent the baby back to live with their family in Narathiwat.
