This time the activity was to build check dams to store water for use in agricultural crops, and water for consumption for the villagers in the community throughout the year as well,” concluded Mrs. Thiwalrat.

Khao Jao Subdistrict is the watershed area of Pranburi. Most villagers grow fruits such as durian, jackfruit, and mango that need water. The construction of a dam prevents droughts throughout the dry season, helping farmers and villagers with another channel to use water for agriculture.
Mr. Setthachai Poolsawat, 35, a villager in Khao Jao Subdistrict who participated in the urgent employment activity to build a dam, said he owns a durian plantation with a yield of 2 rai. The dam is very much appreciated, especially in the dry season, to have water to use for agriculture.
