Labour Minister Assigns Secretariat to Join BMA and Bangkok Metropolitan Police to Deliver Relief Bags to Support Residents in Dine Daeng Flats to Overcome COVID-19

            On October 18, 2021, at 09.30 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Suthep Chitayawong to visit the area meet the people in the Din Daeng Triangular area by integrating work between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Bangkok Metropolitan Police Bureau and the Ministry of Labour. The occasion took place in the courtyard in front of the West Sports Building 2, Bangkok Youth Center. Bangkok Governor Pol. Gen. Asawin Kwanmuang, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Pol Maj. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, Mr. Khajit Chatchavanich, and representatives of the Governor of the National Housing Authority visited the activities in the area and met with the people who attended the event whereby donating 790 relief bags to the people.

            Mr. Suthep said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, is concerned about the workforce and the general public affected by the COVID-19 situation, especially the elderly, young children, bedridden patients and residents of Din Daeng flats who have no income due to the impact of COVID-19. Today, he was assigned by Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin to integrate work between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Bangkok Metropolitan Police Bureau, and the Ministry of Labour, to deliver 800 relief bags to the residents of the Din Daeng flats to alleviate their suffering and the burden of expenses, as the people of the Din Daeng community have been affected by COVID-19. There are over 30,000 residents, including 300 households with vulnerable groups, such as young children, the elderly, bedridden patients, and those unable to help themselves. This group of people will need to receive help and treatment from the relevant agencies. Previously, the Ministry of Labour instructed the vendors in the community to cook food boxes for dinner, providing them with a career, as they made 1,500 boxes daily for one month. They also gave out five kilograms of rice per household, totaling 7,700 households to the residents of the Din Daeng community affected by COVID-19.
