Content Description

December 6, 2025 – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Social Security Cares for the Insured” project. Attending the event were Ms. Patcharee Salasillapa, Deputy Governor of Sa Kaeo Province, Ms. Kanchana Poolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, Mr. Sibmuenchai Phothisin, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, along with senior executives from the Ministry of Labour and the Social Security Office, representatives of establishments, insured persons, and officials. The event was held at the Sa Kaeo Provincial Administrative Organisation, Sa Kaeo Province.

Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, said that the term “Social Security” is not merely about making monthly contributions, but about building a strong “safety net” for insured persons from birth to the end of life. From the very beginning, Social Security provides benefits such as antenatal care, childbirth expenses, and child allowances up to age 6. In times of illness, insured persons have access to medical facilities without worrying about treatment costs. During periods of unemployment, income-replacement benefits help provide support, and upon retirement, a gratuity or pension serves as a final source of savings.

The Minister of Labour stated that today’s event reflects the Social Security Office’s proactive approach to reaching out to insured persons across all areas. It is also an excellent opportunity for insured persons to gain health knowledge, receive basic health screenings, and participate in activities provided by partner organisations. The Ministry of Labour is fully committed to supporting all initiatives that enable workers to access medical care and health promotion services in an equitable and high-quality manner.

“The organisation of the ‘Social Security Cares for the Insured’ project in Sa Kaeo Province is part of the policy to improve insured persons’ access to healthcare services, making them more convenient, faster, and more efficient. The event features key activities, including 14 proactive health screening services, dental services provided through mobile dental units, health and welfare promotion for insured persons, such as lung cancer screening using chest X-rays combined with artificial intelligence (AI) technology, as well as Social Security services and health education activities. These efforts are strongly supported by partner organisations,” Ms. Trinuch concluded.

Ms. Kanchana Poolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, added that in addition to the event in Sa Kaeo Province, the Social Security Office has also organised the “Social Security Cares for the Insured” project in five other provinces: Chiang Mai, Chonburi, Nong Khai, Samut Prakan, and Bangkok, with the most recent event held on December 4, 2025. This demonstrates the Social Security Office’s commitment to reaching insured persons in all areas, reaffirming that the Ministry of Labour stands ready to support all policies and measures that promote good health among Thai workers and ensure equitable and sustainable access to healthcare and health-promotion benefits.
