Labour Minister Shows Concern for Thai Interpreter in Saudi Arabia and Coordinates with Embassy to Repatriate the Worker to Thailand for Treatment

                The Deputy Labour Minister revealed updates on the medical conditions of the interpreter in Saudi Arabia. Most recently, he has been tested as free from Covid-19 infections. The Ministry of Labour has coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send back the Thai interpreter to Thailand on September 2.

                On September 1, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, reported an update on the medical conditions of Mr. Mad Ma-min, an interpreter at the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia, as well as his repatriation to Thailand. Commander Lieutenant Vittavat Koodprasert, Minister Counselor (on Labour) from the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), reported that the Riyadh Labour Office had coordinated with the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh to facilitate the repatriation of Mr. Mad Ma-min, an interpreter at the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia. He left Ad Diriyah hospital to go to King Khaled International Airport and returned to Thailand for treatment via an air ambulance. In this journey, Mr. Sathon Kasemsan Na Ayudhya, a Deputy Ambassador in Riyadh, joined the trip to send the interpreter to the airport this time.

                The Minister Counselor (on Labour) from the Labour Office in Riyadh, said that Mr. Mad Ma-min, an interpreter at the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia, had previously been sick due to Covid-19. He had spent more than a month in the ICU until he recovered and returned to Thailand for further treatment.

                Upon arrival in Thailand, the Labour Minister assigned the Don Mueang immigration division to facilitate the return trip of the interpreter. On August 31, 2020, the aircraft delivered the patient via an air ambulance.
