M.P. Anusee Visit Chonburi to Monitor Employment Supporting the New Normal

                A spokesperson for the Labour Commission Ms. Anusaree Tubsuwan, Member of the House of Representatives, visited Chonburi to study the establishment of labour policies to support the new normal, and the transition to the post-Covid-19 world.

                Member of the House of Representatives Ms. Anusaree Tubsuwan, as the spokesperson for the Labour Commission and Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, visited Chonburi to study the work of the Labour Committee and the Subcommittee on Policy and Labour Law Studies, the House of Representatives, on the implementation of labour policies to accommodate the new normal and the transition to the post-Covid-19 world. The visit took place at the Skill Development Institute 3, Chonburi. Deputy Mayor of Saen Suk Mr. Kittichai Khunpluem, along with the head of government departments under the Ministry of Labour in Chonburi, gave a welcoming.

                On this occasion, they met with representatives of employers and organizations from both provinces on issues and obstacles and listened to advise and recommendations to the subcommittee. They visited the EEC Labour Administration Center, which provides a One-Stop Service by all departments under the Ministry of Labour. The visit then went to the Saen Suk Municipality to monitor the situation on employment at Bang Saen Beach, following tourism measure adapting to the new normal.

                Ms. Anusaree said that the visit to Chonburi today acknowledged the employment situation of Thai people and foreigners, looking at how employment conditions in the area have recovered after the Covid-19 situation has eased. The sessions also acknowledged problems and obstacles, opinions, and suggestions from industry operators and the local Chamber of Commerce on what the plan is in this regard. The visit also monitored the employment situation supporting the new normal to reflect the government and agencies involved in solving the problem together.

                Chonburi has 16,247 establishments, totaling 756,599 employees. It has 10,237 vacancies, with a total of 878,795 insured persons and 135,945 foreign workers. The province still needs 1,759 marine fishermen’s needs and 761 fisheries workers. Claims for unemployment due to force majeure from Covid-19 totaled 97,751 people, with compensation being paid in the amount of 756.07 million Baht. Seven companies have terminated employees/closed business, totaling 4,523 employees, and 482 companies have used Section 75, totaling 351,311 people.
