The Ministry of Labour organized the second blood donation project from the goal of 15 times to help workers and people who suffer from work hazards. The project also looks at promoting all sectors to recognize the sacrifice and doing good deeds without expecting returns and to celebrate the coronation ceremony of 2019.
On June 7, 2019, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Suradej Waleeittikul chaired the opening ceremony of the second blood donation project on the occasion of the royal coronation, at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Conference Room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labour. He said that, on the occasion of the coronation of 2019, the government invited various agencies to propose projects and activities on behalf of the government and the Thai people. In this regard, the Ministry of Labour proposed to donate blood in honour of the coronation, to the committee on projects and activities to honour royal occasion which was chaired by former Deputy Prime Minister Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong. The committee approved the proposal on April 26, 2019, whereby the project would consist of 15 blood donations scheduled at the Ministry of Labour and business establishments, both centrally and regionally, throughout the period of the coronation ceremony.
Mr. Suradej said that the Ministry of Labour’s first blood donation was held at Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and this was the second event from 15 times with the target group of executives, civil servants and officials, as well as employer organizations, employees, both formal and informal workers. A total of 300 people participated in the activity. The target is to host 15 blood donation events with three within the Ministry of Labour’s premises and 12 within companies’ premises, from May 4, 2019, to May 4, 2020. There are also exciting activities such as the Chalermprakiat exhibition and activity booths by agencies under the Ministry of Labour. In addition to being held in honour of the coronation ceremony, it is also an opportunity for government officials, staff under the Ministry of Labour and workers in all business establishments participating in the event, for shared expression of loyalty and appreciation of His Majesty’s grace. The activities also support blood supply to the Thai Red Cross and public hospitals in bringing blood to help patients and those suffering from hazards at work, as well as encouraging those who attend the event to realize the sacrifice and good deeds without expecting returns and integrating activities with government agencies and business establishments too.
