Labour Minister Reports Return of Interpreter from Saudi Arabia to Thailand and Sends Well Wishes for Speedy Recovery

          The Labour Minister reported that the Labour Officer in Riyadh coordinated with the Royal Thai Embassy to repatriate the interpreter at the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia to Thailand for further treatment and sent well wishes for a speedy recovery.

                On September 2, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the International Cooperation Bureau Officer and Don Mueang Immigration Division to facilitate the return of the Interpreter from the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mad Ma-min, for further treatment. Upon arrival, he was transferred to Rajavithi Hospital. The most recent report from the Don Mueang Immigration Division said that at around 00.45 hours on September 2, 2020, the international air ambulance transport aircraft of SKY MED ASIA SERVICE arrived at Don Mueang Airport. The staff then took the interpreter to Rajavithi Hospital for further treatment.

                Interpreter from the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mad Ma-min, aged 54, is from Thai-Muslim origins. He lives with his wife live in Bangkok, and they had two sons in Riyadh. He had previously been sick due to Covid-19 and spent more than a month in the ICU until he recovered. Doctors recently reported that the Covid-19 was no longer detected and requested that he return for treatment in Thailand. The interpreter has worked in the Labor Office for over 20 years and has helped Thai workers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Lebanon.

                “This Thai interpreter in Saudi He went out to work to help ill Thai people return home. He was successful in his assignment and eventually became ill himself. Therefore, I would like everyone to work together to help him get better and get well soon,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
