PM Concerned for Employers and Insured Persons Has Issued Over One Hundred Billion Baht in Remedies

          On October 6, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress of the government’s remedial payments to workers and businesses in the 29 dark red provinces, namely Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Samut Songkhram, Suphan Buri, Phetchaburi, Rayong, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ratchaburi. Nakhon Ratchasima, Phetchabun, and Tak. The effort aims to control the COVID-19 pandemic following the CCSA’s measures. He said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha was concerned for the workers and companies affected by COVID-19. Therefore, he instructed the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office to implement an employer remedial program for insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40. From the start of the project to September 28, 2021, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office (SSO) has transferred money to PromptPay accounts linked to an ID card number to support employers and insured persons in all three sections, reaching over 165,000 employers and totaling over 12,700 million Baht. The effort reached 12 million insured persons under Sections 33,39, and 40, amounting to over 88.7 billion Baht, resulting in over one hundred billion Baht being injected into the economy.

          Mr. Suchart continued that the Prime Minister urged the Ministry of Labour to expedite the payment of remedies to remaining groups. Thus, he instructed the Social Security Office has been instructed to speed up public relations to such insured persons. Those who have not received the remedial payment are advised to contact the bank. Those who have not linked PromptPay with their ID card number have been advised to quickly do so or change from linking their PromptPay with their phone number their ID card number. Those who have not received the transfer due to other reasons such as closed accounts or have not opened an account have been advised to quickly contact the bank and complete the process.
