PM Visits Covid-19 Vaccination Center for Section 33 Insured Persons at the West Sports Building 1, Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng and Emphasizes Labour Minister Roll Out 45 Locations to Accelerate Group Immunity

          On June 7, 2021, at 10.00 hours, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence General Prayuth Chan-ocha, Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, and the Cabinet, visited the Covid-19 Vaccination Center for Section 33 Insured Persons in Bangkok at the West Sports Building 1, Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng, Bangkok. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumol Pinyosinwat, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Social Security Office’s Secretary General Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives joined the welcoming.

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin said that today, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha visited the Covid-19 Vaccination Center for Section 33 Insured Persons. The center was launched following government policy on Covid-19 vaccinations, a national agenda. The Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned for the workforce. Therefore, the Labour Minister assigned the Social Security Office to work with the Ministry of Interior, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Ministry of Public Health by the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the Ministry of Finance by Krung Thai Bank, and social security network hospitals, both public and private, to provide Covid-19 vaccinations to insured persons. The effort aims to control the spread of the pandemic from spreading in factories and workplaces. Vaccinations will initially start for Section 33 insured persons in Bangkok from June 7 to 26. The first batch of vaccines is 1 million doses, provided to insured persons who wish to receive the Covid-19 vaccine with their employers, recorded in the e-service system, accordingly, following the Social Security Office’s survey launched in May 2021. The Social Security Office has already arranged the vaccination queues in the order that employers have informed of their intent through the system. It has coordinated with employers to arrange for insured employees under Section 33 from 24,568 establishments across Bangkok to get vaccinated at 45 locations that the Social Security Office has arranged all over Bangkok. Facilities include the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng, Thammasat University, Sun Tower, Bang Khun Thian Sports Center, and company head offices where employees/insured persons work in Bangkok. The Social Security Office Area, 1-12, has prepared the location, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and medical equipment from 23 hospitals in the social security network. It has the potential to inject 50,000 people per day. All centers will provide services between 08.00 to 17.00 hours.

          Mr. Suchart reiterated at the end for all insured persons to be assured that the Ministry of Labour is ready to operate at its best to support insured persons to get Covid-19 vaccinated. Insured persons who have registered but have not gotten an appointment for the first lot of vaccinations, once the Social Security Office has received an allotment, it will make appointments for the following lot, following the order of the registrations.
