Section 33 Insured Persons in 16 Provinces Receive Government Remedies Today

Content Description

On August 20, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the transfer of funds under the relief measures for workers and companies affected by COVID-19 in the 29 highest controlled provinces. He said that Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned about workers, including the self-employed and the public affected by COVID-19, and wants to ensure that they receive relief from the government. Today (August 20, 2021), 361,939 Section 33 insured persons in the remaining 16 provinces, namely Kanchanaburi, Tak, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Prachinburi, Phetchaburi, Phetchabun, Rayong, Ratchaburi, Lopburi, Samut Songkhram, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, and Ang Thong, will receive cash transfers via PromptPay linked with their ID card number, for 2,500 Baht each. The relief effort represents 904,847,500 Baht and is aimed to reduce the burden on living expenses among Section 33 insured persons affected by the lockdown measures.

Mr. Suchart continued that for those who are not yet linked with PromptPay, the Social Security Office will inform the employer for the employee to sync their PromptPay account with their ID card number so that the Social Security Office can transfer funds on the following Fridays. In the past, it was found that some insured persons had still not received money due to an unsuccessful transfer stemming for various reasons, such as accounts not yet linked to PromptPay with their ID card number, resulting in some people not receiving the payments in the past round of transfers. Therefore, he asked that Section 33 insured persons eligible in the 16 provinces receive compensation today (August 20, 2021), including those missed from the past transfer cycle, to quickly check their accounts. If it shows that the money has not yet been credited to the account, please hurry and contact the bank immediately.

“In this regard, the Social Security Office (SSO) has opened up to employers and insured persons under Sections 33, 39 and 40 to check the information at www.sso.go.th. People with questions can contact the Ministry of Labour’s 1506 hotline available 24 hours a day,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
