SSO Transfers Remedies Today via PromptPay to Section 33 Insured Persons in 3 Provinces under 9 Business Types

Content Description

On August 9, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress of paying remedies to workers and entrepreneurs following the measures to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 in highly controlled areas. The measure follows the Cabinet’s Resolution on July 20, 2021, which agreed to expand the area to remedy entrepreneurs and employees affected by the COVID-19 measures from 10 provinces to 13 provinces, adding Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The measures cover nine types of business, namely construction, accommodation and food services, art activities, entertainment and recreation, and other service activities, to nine branches, with the addition of transportation and storage, wholesale and retail, automotive repair, administrative, and support activities, professional activities in science and academia, and information and communication activities. The rate of payment and payment method remains the same. He said that Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned about workers and entrepreneurs affected by the measures to control the COVID-19 outbreaks. Today, SSO has already transferred money to Section 33 insured persons in Chonburi, Chachoengsao, and Ayutthaya areas.

Mr. Suchart added that the payment of remedies to Section 33 employers and employees in Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya areas covered 272,746 insured persons and 19,213 employers, using a total amount of 1.522 billion Baht. This amount consists of 841 million Baht for employers and 681 million Baht for employees. Today, the Social Security Office transferred remedies to insured persons via their PromptPay account linked to their ID number. Individual employers will receive remedies via their PromptPay account using their ID number as well. Employers of corporate status will receive remedies via their bank account under the name of the employer’s juristic person.

“The transfer of remedies to heal Section 33 insured persons in the three provinces under the nine business types aims to alleviate suffering for workforce and entrepreneurs affected by COVID-19. This measure aligns with the intentions of the Prime Minister and the government to leave no one behind so that everyone and every group can move forward and overcome the COVID-19 situation together,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
