July 1, 2025 – Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of Labour, announced that the Cabinet has acknowledged the resolution of the Wage Committee regarding the Minimum Wage Rate (Notification No. 14), as proposed by the Ministry of Labour. The new rates will take effect on July 1, 2025.
Key highlights are that the minimum daily wage is being adjusted to 400 Baht in three groups:
- Bangkok – all types of businesses.
- Hotel businesses nationwide that are classified under types 2, 3, and 4 under the law, excluding type 1 hotels, which only offer accommodation with fewer than 50 rooms.
- Entertainment establishments as defined by law, nationwide, that serve food, alcohol, or beverages, such as nightclubs, pubs, bars, massage parlours, and karaoke bars.
Mr. Boonsong stated that this wage increase is the result of collaboration between the government, employers, and employees, based on principles of fairness and inclusivity, to ensure that business operations can continue. At the same time, workers receive adequate and appropriate income.
The objective is to improve the overall quality of life for workers, aligning with current living costs, while maintaining a balance that allows businesses to remain viable and drive sustainable economic growth.
Details of the New Minimum Wage Rates Effective July 1, 2025:
- 400 Baht: Bangkok, Phuket, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Surat Thani (Koh Samui district), hotel businesses type 2, 3, 4 nationwide, entertainment venues nationwide
- 380 Baht: Mueang Chiang Mai district, Mueang Songkhla district.
- 372 Baht: Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon
- 359 Baht: Nakhon Ratchasima
- 358 Baht: Samut Songkhram
- 357 Baht: Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai (excluding Mueang Chiang Mai), Prachinburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Saraburi
- 356 Baht: Lopburi
- 355 Baht: Nakhon Nayok, Suphan Buri, Nong Khai
- 354 Baht: Krabi, Trat
- 352 Baht: Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, Chiang Rai, Tak, Nakhon Phanom, Buri Ram, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phang Nga, Phitsanulok, Mukdahan, Sakon Nakhon, Songkhla (excluding Hat Yai district), Sa Kaeo, Surat Thani (excluding Koh Samui district), Ubon Ratchathani
- 351 Baht: Chumphon, Phetchaburi, Surin
- 350 Baht: Nakhon Sawan, Yasothon, Lamphun
- 349 Baht: Kalasin, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Bueng Kan, Phetchabun, Roi Et
