The Labour Minister welcomed the President of the Thai Overseas Recruitment Association and delegation on meeting to congratulate the Labour Minister on taking the position. He also acknowledged the urgent work related to deploying Thai workers to work abroad.
On August 17, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed President of the Thai Overseas Recruitment Association Ms. Aranya Sakulkosol, and delegation, in a meeting to congratulate the Labour Minister on the occasion of taking the position and acknowledging the urgent work related to the deployment of Thai workers abroad by the Ministry of Labour. The two parties also exchanged opinions at the Prasong Rananant meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also have a welcoming. The Thai Overseas Recruitment Association discussed important issues regarding the deployment of Thai workers abroad, including amendments to laws and regulations to facilitate delivery, expanding the labour market and the number of jobs once the global Covid-19 situation is resolved in 2021.
Mr. Suchart asked everyone to help determine the future of Thailand according to the “Unite Thailand to Build a Nation” policy, by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, which aims to join forces from all sectors at all levels in society to get involved and play a role in planning and supporting the recovery of the public sector and businesses affected by COVID-19. The Labour Minister assigned the Department of Employment to consider and study details, to prepare information to accompany the issues that the association discussed, within 2 weeks
According to the association, the labour quota of each company is around 10,000 positions. If Covid-19 is resolved quickly, this may lead to more job position openings. Initially, the focus should be on Taiwan, which is a big market. The number of jobs once the Covid-19 pandemic is resolved in 2021, is expected that there will be 30,000 jobs in Taiwan, 20,000 jobs in Singapore, 15,000 jobs in South Korea (state deployment) and 5,000 jobs in Israel (state deployment). European countries also have 5,000 jobs, the Middle East with 10,000 jobs, Africa with 5,000 jobs, Japan with 5,000 jobs, fruit picking in Denmark with 5,000 jobs, and other countries with 5,000 jobs, for a total of 105,000 people.
