The Permanent Secretary of Labour welcomed the Permanent Secretary from the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, on courtesy call and to congratulate the Permanent Secretary on the appointment of his new position, and to strengthen collaboration on workforce development using technology to add value to ILO standards.
On July 2, 2019, at 08.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol welcomed Permanent Secretary from Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower Mr. Aubeck Kam, Director of Planning and International Cooperation Mr. Lim Tze Jiat and 3 officials from the department of foreign affairs, on courtesy call to congratulate the Permanent Secretary on his appointment and to discuss official matters on labour. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suradech Waleeittikul and Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Phattana Phanfak also attended the meeting at the Connection 3 meeting room, 9th floor, Amari Watergate, Bangkok.
In the meeting, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore congratulated the Thai Permanent Secretary Labour on the appointment to his new position and asked for the Ministry of Labour’s cooperation in workforce development for Decent Work 1, following the standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO). The direction emphasizes the future of work in the ASEAN region by walking together, whereby Singapore has already advanced in the future of the work in 1) technology 2) workforce development and 3) development of cooperation in the ASEAN region or SLOM, especially following plans which are set on this SLOM meeting agenda.
The Permanent Secretary of the Singapore Ministry of Manpower Also requested cooperation from the Thai Ministry of Labour to develop modern technology with manpower, that is to use technology to work which of course requires the development of knowledge. Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower will provide support in this matter and work with the Thai Ministry of Labour. Finally, the Permanent Secretary of Labour thanked the Singaporean Permanent Secretary of Manpower and will continue to work closely with Singapore.
