The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who led Cabinet members in laying wreaths before the royal statue of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great as an expression of deep gratitude and remembrance of His Majesty’s boundless benevolence. October 6, 2025, at 10.00 hours – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, presided over a press conference announcing the launch of the “e-WorkPermit” system, part of the Outsourcing Service Project for producing work permits and providing application and employment notification services for foreign workers. Joining the event were Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pichet Thongphan, Director-General of the Department of Employment, Lt. Cdr. On September 27, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the implementation of compensation payments to insured persons under Section 33 in the 13 provinces dark red, comprising Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, and Songkhla. He said that on September 27 to 28, the Social Security Office will transfer money to insured persons under Section 33 comprising 3.02 million people, who will receive compensation of 2,500 Baht each. Mr. Suchart further said that he would like to emphasize for insured persons who have not received the remedies to hurry and link their PromptPay bank account number to their ID card so that the bank can transfer the money to the PromptPay account. On August 24, 2021, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, reported the first round of payment for remedies to insured persons under Section 39 in 13 provinces, covering nine types of businesses, amounting to 5,000 Baht. The payments were made yesterday (August 23, 2021) to eligible insured persons in Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, and Songkhla, with the addition of Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. There was a total of 1,123,746 transfers, with 1,020,852 successful transfers and 102,894 unsuccessful transfers. The unsuccessful transfers were that 99,940 accounts weren’t linked to PromptPay, 1,412 were closed accounts, 972 people had no accounts, 11 people had accounts limited to certain criteria, 112 were incorrect accounts numbers, and 447 were unable to make the transfer. On August 23, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress on transferring remedies to help insured persons affected by the announcement of “curfews” and “lockdowns.” He said that today (August 23, 2021), remedies would be transferred via PromptPay accounts linked to ID card numbers to Section 39 insured persons at 5,000 Baht each. The remedies will be paid to 1,123,746 people, amounting to over 5.6 billion Baht. The effort aims to alleviate the suffering and reduce living and daily expenses among insured workers. On July 21, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that yesterday (July 20, 2021), the Cabinet approved a budget of 13.5 billion Baht to remedy workers and businesses following measures to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 in the highest and strictest control areas in 10 provinces, namely Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, and Songkhla. A total of 132,912 insured persons, informal workers and general public got tested, to help slow down the spread of the infection and control outbreaks while waiting for vaccinations.
