Labour Minister Promotes Policies on Women Career Development

President of the Fisheries Association of Thailand Meets Labour Minister to Discuss Guidelines to Resolve Labour Issues in Fishing

            President of the Fisheries Association of Thailand met with the Labour Minister and Deputy Labour Minister to congratulate them on their new position. Labour Minister Gives Condolences to Thai Worker Who Passed from Covid-19; Orders Agencies to Support the Family

                The Labour Minister expressed his condolences for the death of a Thai worker from Covid-19 in Saudi Arabia. He ordered the Counsellor Minister on Labour to track outstanding wages and the Provincial Labour Office and agencies in Lampang to inform relatives and support the deceased’s family.                 Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave his condolences to the death of a Thai worker from Covid-19 in Saudi Arabia. The incident was reported by Commander Lieutenant Vittavat Koodprasert, Minister Counselor (on Labour) from the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh). The report stated that on August 26, 2020, at 11.00 hours, the Labour Office in Riyadh coordinated with the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh, saying that a 67-year-old Thai worker who was treated for Covid-19 had passed away. MOL Trains Civil Servants on Technological Changes in the 4.0 Era

                The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the training program to provide knowledge on the management of the National Labour Data Center and to utilize the data to become Provincial Big Data, which will help to develop digital capabilities of personnel within the organization. Labour Minister Welcomes the Department of Consular Affairs Director-General and Committee to Discuss Ill Interpreter in Saudi Arabia

            On August 26, 2020, at 14.30 hours, Deputy Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs Mr. Chatree Arachananan and committee to meet and discuss ways to assist the interpreter at the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), with his illness. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat and the Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Suchart Pornchaiwisetkun also joined the discussion at Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.             There are guidelines for providing assistance though coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related agencies, including hospitals, to seek opinions on the patient’s readiness to return to Thailand. Deputy Labour Minister Meets with Academic Working Group on Promoting Skills in the Thai Workforce for S-Curve and New S-Curve

                The Deputy Labour Minister met with the academic working group to discuss the promotion of skills development for all target groups to feed the domestic and foreign labour markets. The efforts will support the S-Curve and New S-curve industries through the Covid-19 crisis. Labour Minister Shows Concern for Interpreter; Orders Labour Ambassadors to Coordinate Closely with Agencies for Return

                The Labour Minister showed concern for the Thai interpreter in Saudi Arabia. He ordered the Counselor Minister (on Labour) at the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) to coordinate with relevant agencies to issue a Fit to Fly certificate to return to Thailand, for further care.                 Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin received a report by Commander Lieutenant Vittavat Koodprasert, Minister Counselor (on Labour) from the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) on the progress of assisting the interpreter at the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) back to Thailand.  The interpreter was admitted to inpatient treatment on July 26, with results from the last test for the Covid-19 virus showing no infection. The interpreter was considered Covid-19 free since August 18. The Labour Office in Riyadh informed the Royal Thai Embassy for acknowledgment, but the Royal Thai Embassy had received the results from the Consular Affairs Department and therefore held discussions immediately.  The Royal Thai Embassy proposed to coordinate with hospitals to seek comments on the patient’s readiness to return. Deputy Labour Minister Visits Phrae Amid Flooding to Drive Thailand Forward Together

                The Deputy Minister of Labour, together with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, visited Phrae provinces. They emphasized that they are ready to work hard to help the people, workers, and businesses affected by the Covid-19 situation.                 On August 22, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumol Pinyosinwat along with Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Capt. Thammanat Prompao visited Phrae to listen to the troubles of the people in the province amid the flooded forests of both Phrae and Nan provinces. Deputy Labour Minister Monitors Skill Development Activities Following the National Strategy for 2020; States that the Skill Development Fund has Supported Businesses and Skills Training for Many Workers

                Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat attended a meeting with the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General Mr. Tawat Benchatikul to follow up on the mission of the Department of Skill Development following the national strategy for 2020. The Department of Skill Development, under the strategies on safety, capacity building, development, and empowerment of human resources and the social equality goal of 3,827,200 people, with a result of 4,419,890 people                 The Skill Development Fund has a capital of 1,118,337,416,33 Baht. A total of 432 companies have been approved for a total of 267,546,248 Baht in loans. A total of 71,034 workers have received skill training. From the Covid-19 pandemic, = measures were implemented to support businesses with loans from the Skill Development Fund, by deferring the debt repayment period in 44 places and extending the repayment period, 37 places. Labour Minister’s Advisor Follows Up on Profess of Career Promotion Project for Home Workers in Buriram

          On July 14, 2020, at 15.30 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet met and followed up on the results of the career promotion project for home worker groups (Ban Samranrat Silk Weaving Group). Mrs. Somsri Ob-oon, chairman of the Mudmee Silk-Cotton Weaving Group (Silkwool’s Foot) led the visit and advised the sales of silk online. MOL Skill Development Promotion Committee Meets for No. 5/2020

          Today (June 26, 2020) at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the Skill Development Promotion Committee Meeting No. 5/2020. Relevant agencies participated in the meeting at the Pakorn Angsusing meeting room, 10th floor, Department of Skill Development. The meeting considered the request for approval of the Skill Development Promotion Committee’s draft order on the appointment of a subcommittee to prepare details to classify and specify the level of knowledge and capability, and specify the wage rate range appropriate to the level of knowledge and skills in respective professionals fields of mechanical engineering and construction. MOL Meets on “Market Place Online for Bangkok Labour Volunteers”

           Today (June 26, 2020) at 09.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Pattraporn Samatrat as chairperson of the meeting on the preparation of market place online for the Bangkok labour volunteers. The meeting took place at the Strategy and Planning Division, 13th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Ministry of Labour has initiated this project to promote products online through the promotion of professional groups. The initiative aims to promote Thai-made products, for Thai consumers, on the Thai Charoen marketplace, expanding online markets, distribution centers of products and products promoted by the Ministry of Labour.
